I'm going to go out on a limb today and say that Augie goes full-on small-ball today, bunting over lead-off doubles included, much to the displeasure of Slim.

Texas HAS to have this win.  There aren't many things that I call a must-win, but today certainly qualifies.

Cannot overstate the importance of today's game. I expect a good effort out of the players - they're well aware of the urgency.

They're deep enough into KU's staff that the offense should find success.

Augie pregame quotes:

"Only in hindsight can you pick and choose what you think caused you to win a game or lose a game."

"It's about who has the most runs."

"Energy of the players has been good in the last two games, they've played better in the last two game compared to the games leading up to it."

"we have 10 games left in the conference.  That's almost half the conference schedule.  There's a lot of winning and a lot of losing taking place throughout the conference."

Yesterday, Texas has a total of two SACs.  Texas left 9 on base, including stranding Ben Johnson who started the 9th inning with a lead-off double.  That can't happen.  Augie, in the past, would ALWAYS bunt him over.  Not sure why he didn't.  That type of thing, (stranding lead-off XBH) has been happening quite a bit this season.

Texas wearing all grays, gray cap with burnt orange bill, orange socks

KU wearing blue jerseys, blue pants, blue stirrups and a multi-color cap.

Getting ready for first pitch-HookEm!

And we're off

Check again

2-1; Johnson shows he's going, but hustles back and comes back to 1B

Drives a ball down the LF line; double; Johnson rounds 3B and is sent home, he's throw out at the plate.  7-5-2 on the put out.

1 LOB

No score going B1

I don't mind Johnson being thrown out at the plate. With the way this team lacks timely hits, I'd just as soon see him get waved.

Johnson is not happy about the C blocking the plate w/out the ball, although I don't see anything on the replay that shows that Johnson has anything to complain about.  Good hard baseball play by both Johnson and the C.

Had Johnson stolen 2B like he started to do, and not gone back to 1B, he'd have scored on Cantu's double.

I'm not watching but if the catcher doesn't have the ball, he's fair game to be ran over isn't he?

We managed to parlay a single and a double in one inning into no runs

That so indicative of this season

This team is snakebit beyond belief
