*****Texas vs. Iowa State*****

Bonney actually played pretty well. Got turned around badly once that I can remember but otherwise played well. Playing time out to be earned by performance in practice and games. Play whose playing well. That changes over the course of the season. Give Bonney a little credit for tonight.

Next week is a new week though.
Not disagreeing with his performance tonight. He did a good job. Hill and Davis are just physically more talented, but they haven't played up to their ability this year.

No doubt Hill and Davis haven't played to their potential. I thought they would have better a better season. Until they play better you have to play the guys that are playing the best. For Texas to really be good, they need Hill and Davis to play well.

I believed we would win (almost lost that belief at one point). I am not at all concerned about the offense. We can put points up and quickly at times. Iowa state or not the defense tonight looked nothing like the last 3 games. We got pressure, seemed to be communicating, played with intensity, and were generally close to receivers during pass plays. It's just a glimmer but that was improvement. I think the arm bands probably helped to at least have 11 guys attempting to run the same play. If they can put a couple of good outings in a row it would be nice. I liked seeing Giles, fowler, and shark out there especially with Hollywood Marv at the game.

Just got home from the game and no, I didn't go through all 17 pages of this thread. My question is, were the personal fouls/taunting calls valid? I didn't see any taunting but I may have missed it.

Have to say I wasn't expecting the defense to limit ISU's offense the way they have played. 8 sacks and double digit TFLs is fantastic no matter how you slice it.

Offense started slow, but still put up over 500 yards of offense and Foreman cracked the century mark again. Offensive line also kept Shane clean all night which is always great.

You expect to win these types of games, but given how things have played out it was refereshing to see the team dominate a half the way it did tonight.

Build off this and go get the monkey off your back in Manhattan.

I taunted streettopeschel in the 2nd quarter, then threw a virtual flag at him.

He ran away.

Very happy we have this victory, but the reality is it we beat a team that is 1 and 6. I would feel much better if this was the other Iowa team we just beat ...wish those Hawkeyes would join our conference. I will take the win though as it is much better than the other option.

Enjoy the win, but tap the brakes.  It was Iowa State.  We just need to remain focused and play one game at a time. Hopefully we will build upon this victory.
