OU is about to beat Baylor in Waco. Big 12 is going to be crazy this year.

10-8 Iowa State at the 16 minute mark. Going to be a game of mismatches. We can't guard their three point shooters and they can't guard our size down low.

Texas is playing with Iowa State which doesn't surprise me, it's the 3 point shot that is killing Texas right now.

Yep, Iowa State is a three point shooting team. Barnes needs to start coaching. Got to make them drive or go down low.

Halftime Thoughts.

- Iowa State is doing a great job shutting down Cameron Ridley but eventually the Cyclones can't keep double teaming Ridley. Holmes taking 3 pt shots aren't ideal but it might get one of those big guys off Ridley to get him more looks.

- I don't think either team played their best game.

- The 3's the Cyclones are taking won't keep falling but the Cyclones have 10 2nd chance points. Have to be in the right position to get the rebounds and quit giving the Cyclones more chances to pull away.

- The Longhorns can win this game but they won't if they can't dominate the boards. Ejim is all over the place and it seems the Longhorns can't get a body on him. Get a body on him and limit 2nd chance points.

Agree with everything. Ridley needs more touches. Iowa State did a great job on him, but the guards need to get him the ball more. Ridley does a great job of posting up, the biggest problem is guard entry into the post. IMO Ridley needs to touch the ball in the post every possession.

With 3:05 to go, Texas is up 8. Texas is content with running the clock which is fine by me but need to get the best free throw shooters on the court.

Regardless of how this thing turns out, color me impressed. these kids are playing their asses off. I'm a Rick hater but I gotta give him props, he has done one hell of a coaching job with these young guys.

You should run the clock and run your offense. At this point, it's going to be free throws.
