Curtiss in to pitch in the top of the 9th

Gets a 4-3 ground out.

Walks the next guy

FO4 on the RF Line. 2 down

Bunt attempt. Curtiss ends it 1-3.

HORNS WIN 3-2

Gritty team winning close games. Team showing great character over the last few weeks. Enjoying being able to watch all of the action on LHN.

Sorry, got to this a bit late, son had a baseball practice that I wanted to see some of.

Another game that Horns probably don't win last year. This is becoming a recurring theme.

Horns go go down early 2-0, but rally in the 4th to tie it up.

They add the go-ahead run in the 8th.

Lead off Payton single, bunted to 2nd on a CJ SAC, Clemens works a walk. Felts rips a hard liner through the right side and Payton scores on a weird play at the plate. Payton is waved around 3rd, heads home, the throw from RF pulls the C up the 3B line and Payton slides around him but misses the plate. The C thinks he made the tag, (replay shows he missed it,) and Payton scrambles back to touch the plate on all fours.

Saw a solid outing from French after he had to battle back after a shaky start. Duke came in and pitched a solid inning in relief and Curtiss gets the save.

I'm telling y'all, if you're not watching this team, you need to be. They're exciting, gritty, have a lot of fight in them and are a lot of fun to watch right now. They just don't quit.

Mark Payton with the nice dodge-slide to propel the Horns into the lead. This is going to be a fun season for the Texas baseball club.

Thanks to utisdabomb for providing game updates. Really appreciate it!

just got home from the game. CJ and McGuire were the defensive stars with that one inning. two major league plays in a row must've had the rainbows really scratching their heads and wondering what the hell it takes to get a hit.

augie is going to cost me money on meds before this year is over. he drives me nuts with his bunt game and then with clemens on third, one out, a runner on first, his fastest player at the plate and the defense playing back on all corners, he frickin' forgets how to call a squeeze. sorry, but that was as pure of a blown coaching call as i have seen this year. guaranteed squeeze in that point. just get the bunt down in the infield anywhere. WTF, augie? geezus. we could have used that run right then.

fortunately, the bull pen was solid. i like having duke and curtiss as a one, two punch.

After getting a half a dozen new passwords to this site I am finally on.

And wouldn't you know it, here is slim bitching about the bunting.

Where have I seen that before?

Yeah, but Slim's so confused right now, he's bitching about NOT bunting!! Somewhere in hell, freezing rain is falling.

Truer words never spoken hell had frozen over.

I don't get the Longhorn Network, so I just wanted to say thanks to all you guys providing the updates during the games. Keep up the great work, guys, it's appreciated! Mainly I'm just thrilled to see the Longhorn Baseball team playing so well again. Last season was such a bummer.

he drives me nuts. he bunts when i dont want him to and when i do want him to, he forgets how to.

oh yeah, the surprise of the year so far in my book is jacob felts. he won this game, offensively at least. and im still marveling at the back to back defensive gems by CJ and Andy.

It's also looking like Curtiss and Marlow will be taking over the closing duties and Thornhill will move back into the rotation. I like that move.

not sure why we have to designate a closer at this point. marlow's been hurt. not sure its wise to designate him anything until we see how he does. i love the kid too. he's a gritty guy who reminds me a bit of huston street in size and temperament. duke and cooper have been just as effective. if thornhill moves into the starting rotation, maybe that's ok, but you've still got schiraldi and others who've done well.

we really do have an embarrassment of riches at the pitching position.
