First pitch was slated for 11:00AM, but storms rolled through the area for several hours this morning. Games will not be cancelled today, but a new start time has not been announced.

Fly rods and creels if you ask me.

It might be a while, folks. There's another band of storms that are headed this way.

If they hit, we're looking at a possible mid-afternoon start time. They only need to play 2 games today, so they may wait as long as they dare in hopes of letting the field improve.

The ground is completely saturated - there's no where for the water to go.

The NCAA committee looks like idiots for scheduling games on fields without good drainage. They picked a fine time to start awarding small schools Regionals. Bet that doesn't happen again anytime soon, or it may encourage the big boys to break away from the No Cerebral Activity Atall

Google translation, "It's gonna be a while."

Teams haven't arrived to field. Game won't start prior to 1 PM CST.

It's going to rain again within the next hour or so. It looks certain enough (on the radar) that they're not making any decisions until they see how much more comes in this storm.

That's why the teams are still at the hotel - no reason to have them waiting for 3+ hours at the ballpark.

this seems more Act of God than an NCAA incompetence issue. I doubt the 'big boys' are gonna break away because of torrential rain.

Not sure that there is a baseball field with enough drainage to handle the rain we've had in North Texas. You would have needed some type of sub-air system. Can't really blame the NCAA.

If the teams hopped on a plane now, they could be in the PacNW in time for an early evening game.

Forecast for SW WA is Sunny, with highs of 77.  Sunset is scheduled for 8:49 PM.  No chance of rain.

Who'd have bet me that the weather in WA state on May 30th would be better than it is in Dallas?

You're just catering to the local/regional team. You're a Beaver homer at heart...admit it.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. Aren't most of us?

While we wait, let's talk about the enemy:

DBU will start RHP Cory Taylor - he's a mid 90's fastball guy but will mix in a curve & slider to keep guys guessing. He'll need to throw some breakers for strikes, or Texas batters will sit on fastballs. Taylor will give up walks if Texas lays off pitches out of the zone.

DBU's bullpen is very good - two guys threw a couple innings in last night's loss, but their war daddy/closer (Koch) didn't throw.

Their offense has gaudy stats. How much of those stat's are from playing in a weak conference is my question.

weak league and a bandbox ballpark.

So, are you saying that field has good drainage? Is it as good as the Disch or Round Rock?

Just curious. It's not as if the Regionals were scheduled months ago.

Hook 'em!
