Per Gerry: "BYU suffered a truly impactful injury when likely NBA second round draft pick and sharpshooter Richie Saunders (18.0 points per game) tore his ACL in the opening minute of the Cougars game February 14 against Colorado. BYU fell off, as expected, following the injury. BYU is 4-5 since the injury with losses including UCF by 13, at West Virginia by 8 and at Cincinnati by 22. It hasn't all been bad for BYU, as they beat Iowa State and Texas Tech in Provo."

The Cougars feature future top 3 NBA draft pick A.J. Dybansta. The 6-9 wing is the nations leading scorer at 25.3 points per game, including seven games of 30+ points on the season.

BYU is a 1.5 pt favorite.

6 seed BYU (23-11) vs 11 seed Texas – Thursday, at 6:25 p.m. CT on TBS.

Texas-BYU winner will face 3 seed Gonzaga vs 14 seed Kennesaw State winner Saturday.

Hanging tough! Swain doesn’t look like he can hang with AJ. Hopefully jitters get erased.

When Mark is motivated he’s a good player. He was playing some solid D against Dybansta! Good team win but BYU D is terrible.

Zags are beatable. Hack-a-Matas strategy in 2nd half?

Happy to dancing still and playing Sat.

Hook ‘em!

Solid win! Hopefully Matas settles down at the FT line.

And Wilcher only had one TO and actually scored!

Jay Bilas picked Texas over the Zags.
