*****Texas vs. Baylor*****

Malik was straight up robbed! That was his TD. Agree with it all... And somebody needs to have a talk with Gilbert. The 18 Wheeler package is dead.

Malik was robbed of a TD.

I love every win against Bailor but winning just felt better against Art Briles.

Nothing has changed my mind.  Charlie Strong isnt the HC for this team.

Strong's clock management is pathetic.  Why were we snapping the ball with 10-15 seconds on play clock on our last drive.

Yea, thats been a broken record for the last 2 years.

Heard that after:

OU last year.

Baylor last year.

ND this year.

Now again.

We are 4-4. I love this win dont get me wrong buy this game proves one thing....Baylor was overrated at #8. Make no mistake.
I completely agree, but this defense did just enough to stop a potent offense...let's not lose sight of that. Plus we beat Baylor when they had a QB and ranked in the top 10.

Couldn't be happier considering the shit show we have in a season. I HATE Baylor. We still need to fire strong asap, our coaching staff kept the game too close. We should have won by more.
So even beating an undefeated top 10 team full of juniors and seniors with a team that has a true freshman center and quarterback is not good enough for you? A win is a win. It still possible to go 7-5 or 8-4 where most, if not all people following this team saw the Longhorns in 2016.

Good point considering the win last year and Russell was out.

They did enough to win against a good offense but I doubt Bayor was worthy of top 10 ranking.  The only notable win was Okie State.

A win is a win and I too got caught up in the last quarter of the game. I did not have faith that our FG kicker could even make the field goal. This was an ugly win , but I still think we have to make the change , but Charlie, Coaching Staff, and players enjoy this win you fought for it and earned it. Be proud of this victory ...HOOK'EM

Seth Russell just summed up our season with that ungraceful yet successful hurdle.
That hurdle over Haynes will be highlighted on ESPN and YouTube for a long , long time. I am sorry but Haynes should not be even on the field of any D1 team but for Texas he is a starter!

Post of the season so far. Young teams win at home and struggle on the road. If this team finishes 7-5 or 8-4 then that is an improvement from last year with a Freshman QB and freshman C and numerous sophomores starting. I get frustrated like everybody else and have lofty expectations for UT, but this is playing out close to what I thought. I expected a split with the Oklahoma schools, but if we beat Texas Tech on the road then I think we can win out. That's just my opinion.

Haha this reporter at post game says "Two of your wins were against top 10 teams...do you not think you are being given the credit you deserve?'

Besides Baylor the 3 other teams we beat ND (3-5), UTEP (2-5), Iowa State (1-7), and are 6-17 overall.

It is obvious ND is not a top 10 team and the top 10 ranking was preseason kool aid.

Baylor at #8 even though their best win Okie State.  I dont think so.

Did Heard get into this game at all? I think Gilbert should shit can the 18 wheeler and the swoopes halfback runs.Perhaps Heard could get some snaps with a run pass option. Glad for the players to win this one but the coaches were really screwing this up.

Congrads to the players and staff on a win over an undefeated bailor team.  Now that I've said that, I still have not changed my mind. This STAFF has to go. The sooner the better. Remember, we beat bailor last year and look at where the program is now. Regression is not good. It sucks big ones.

Gilbert has PTSD just like all of us.

btw, apologize for bailing on y'all. Couldn't be helped. Took my dog out for a quick-you know. He has been restless and excitable this afternoon, which is not his personality, at all. Generally very calm. He went over to neighbors to say hi. It's a mutual admiration society. Anyway, I called him back and he came, quickly, as usual, but this time when he came, his usual superb vision and coordination betrayed us. He zigged when he should have zagged and knocked my right leg out from under me. Wish we could tackle like that!

I landed square on my tail bone. Couldn't even get an arm or foot down. Darn. That hurt. I was concerned for a minute. The kids came over to see if I was ok, and I am, but think I will be sore tomorrow-like I played running back or something.

Darn! I have never fallen. Great balance. Seriously, forget those high hits, and take their legs out from under them. Don't have a chance when you go airborne.

With all due respect(not typed sarcastically)... I can not speak for the poster but my frustration and irritation is not with the players... i understand they are young. I understand they will make mistakes but our coaching staff is making some horrible decisions. We had a good thing with the 18 Wheeler package and Gilbert destroyed it by misuing it. Clock is running with 13 seconds to go before the half and Charlie calls a timeout(Baylor had none), seriously? We absolutely put Shane in bad positions on a weekly basis and ask the freshman to dig us out.

So while a win is a win the coaching staff is our biggest limiting factor, not the players. We have talent and skill all over the roster but the coaches seemingly have no idea what to do with it. Im fine with mistakes from players but I am not ok with inept coaches that constantly put us in crappy positions. IMHO

Thought the same thing. At least he got Beck involved. But we've got to run more than four plays. When we ran again on 3rd and 5 I wanted to strangle him.

+1000

A win is a win but boy do we make it hard.

Play calling bad, personal bad (how is haines still playing!!) The Freeman and cole LB duo makes me sick. The amount of times our DE or OLB crash and no one had contain blew my mind.

If we finish 7-5 I won't be unhappy might also gives a hope at another top 10 class

Freeman has played pretty good.

Chris, I think it's the little things they see, not the W-L.

I tend to get upset when I believe players are not being treated fairly. That's probably the Mom in me. However, the football fan in me saw poor tackling and bad angles from the beginning. Surely, the defensive coach in Charlie saw that, too. Isn't there anyone who could have addressed it on staff. Really, anyone? They are all college football coaches making more than most Texas High school Head Football Coaches/AD's. Why does it fall to the DC/HC to correct poor angles and tackling? I can't figure that one out.

Poor defensive back technique? We have a db coach, had a DC who played db in the NFL, and a HC who could coach them up. Why wasn't that done? I'm not going into the linebackers. That will just make me mad.

Why have a coach on the hot seat for another year? I don't see the point. What assistants are coming? Charlie cannot carry almost the entire defensive weight for another year.

Do you see the problem? We can't afford to waste another year of eligibility for these players, either.

I'm just glad we got an exciting victory over a hated opponent. Even though Briles is not there, his staff is and they knew what was going on

For everyone questioning the timeout before half, watch it again. The defense wasn't set and you had someone trying to sub out. The timeout was called to avoid a disaster of not being set, penalty, etc.
