This pitching staff has imploded. Not sure if there is any relation but it went off the rails after the Witt injury. First 11 games the staff gave up 8 ERs (0.72 ERA) but since then, 84 in 16 games (5.25 ERA). Not one pitcher is consistently effective right now.

Agree.  Shades of back in the day when UT Basketball went 14-0 and then Jim Wacker blew his knee out.

We once went 17-0 under Barnes, were ranked #1 for a week before the bottom fell out on the season.

The pitching is pretty bad right now. If it does not improve this team won't do much in the playoffs.

You are exactly right. There is no doubt when this pitching slump started.

Competition level seems about the same if not easier.

First 11 games including 1 game against #13 LSU and #1 Tennessee, 3 games against bama. Only ranked team we have played since was Tech and Texas State. Some real cupcakes mixed in too (Citadel, College of Charleston, UIW, UCA). The UIW series and UCA game is the only thing keeping the last 16 games respectable in terms of ERA as we only gave up 6 runs in those 4 games.
