***Texas vs Abilene Christian Baseball Weekend Thread***

THE MATCHUP—Texas concludes its 10-game homestand with a three-game weekend series against Abilene Christian. The only prior meeting between the programs took place last year, with the Longhorns coming out on top, 9-1. Kolby Kubi-chek pitched four shutout innings and allowed just one hit to record his second win of the season. The Longhorns took ad-vantage of 12 walks issued by ACU pitching and scratched out nine hits. Murphy Stehly went 2-for-5 with three RBI and one run scored to lead Texas offensively. Austin Todd was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Zach Zubia was 1-for-3 with a solo homer. Eric Kennedy finished the day with a career-high three stolen bases.

FRIDAY–Texas RHP Ty Madden (4-1, 1.69) vs. ACU RHP Tyler Morgan (0-1, 4.54)

SATURDAY–Texas RHP Tristan Stevens (5-1, 2.98) vs. ACU RHP Genner Cervantes (5-1, 5.18)

SUNDAY–Texas RHP Kolby Kubichek (4-2, 2.63) vs. ACU RHP Spencer Chirpich (3-2, 5.18)

Madden works a 9-pitch 1-2-3 frame in T1

All fastballs. 

 
Horns jump on the starter early; take a 5-0 lead thru 1 complete

 
Madden gets K #2 & #3, after B2B singles, to end the frame

Horns up 5-0 headed B2

 
Horns plate one more in B2, lead 6-0

 
Madden gives up a 2-out walk, but that's it.  Adds 2 more Ks.

Horns add 5 more in B3, chase the ACU starter and now lead 11-0

 
In the 4th, Madden scuffles a bit, but works around two walks to start the frame

Bottom half, Hodo drills a dinger over the LF wall

T6 sees UT make a move to Cobb on the mound and wholesale defensive changes.

That was a beating of epic proportions.  Shutout, scored in every frame, 17 hits and 14 walks.
