An aggy on another board warned me about some of the head scratching decisions Schloss would make regarding the bullpen. He needs to stop squandering Tuesday games just to see who will work in the bullpen. It's obvious some of the pitchers can't cut it right now. Burns, Higgins, Walls and Bing. These guys need to be benched for a while.

Max Weiner but he isn't the problem as Texas is #3 in the nation for team ERA. Don't forget, we just shutout the #5 team in the nation at their house.

I'm thinking that aggy is correct, Schloss is seeing what certain players will do in certain situations. If you remember Augie did it also which drove some of the Texas fans nuts.

I agree it's frustrating to lose a game when you're up 7-0. However I'd place some of the blame on the hitters who didn't when we had runners in scoring position. We finished the game with 3 hits and one of those was an infield single. Seems the team is taking Tuesdays off.

Just to play devil's advocate, I know this might be frustrating to us fans, but you have to find out now who you can depend on in your bullpen for later. Game situation is completely different from practice/simulated game. You can't develop players until you see what they can or can't do in games.

In my opinion, if you are a team that considers itself a "shoo-in" for the playoffs, then you need to use these "meaningless" games to find out what you have in fielders and players. If you are a bubble team, then you've got to win as many as you can to make the playoffs.

Frustrating - yes. But I'd rather go into the playoffs as a top 10 team knowing who I can count in situations, than a top ranked team, still trying to learn who to bring in on certain situations.
