Texas Leads For Wittek?

That's been the rumor since he announced that he was transferring.

Do we need Wittek.......or do we not need Wittek. My sense of it all, "No". Yes I know the value of getting hurt and all of that STUFF for having some backup and we have the back up and Wittek did not get the starting job at USC!!!!!!

Do we think he can play at a high level or are we thinking he's a nice-to-have as insurance?
I think most want him as an insurance policy to redshirt Swoopes and Heard. I think Wittek's intention is to play. He doesn't care where. Hawaii is my guess. Norm Chow and the chance of playing right away. I mean he is looking for a fresh start to play and get a chance at the pros (ala Joe Flacco). Texas would get him if Strong, Wickline, and Watson promise an open QB competition.

Just my opinion, but I doubt we redshirt Swoops at this point even if we get him and he is ahead of Swoops. With health questions surrounding Ash, I am guessing the staff will want Swoops ready. I for one would hope they would give it a shot! I was not happy with burning a shirt last year for all of five snaps experience.

I suspect that it is down to us vs. anyone who promises him he will come in as the starter.

Something we will not do.

The University of Texas remains the leader in USC quarterback transfer Max Wittek’s search for a new program, according to Scott Wolf of insidesocal.com.

Wittek reportedly believes he can start at Texas where new head coach Charlie Strong has junior starter David Ash returning after missing most of 2013 with concussion-related symptoms. Ash has been cleared to participate in spring practices.
