The numbers don't mean a heck of a lot but I thought it would be worthwhile to share some of the regular season stats from 2013 & 2014:

Texas went down in just about every statistical offensive category from 2013 to 2014.

What do you see when you look at the numbers?

Case played a little better than Tyrone but not by much. QB play limited our offense tremendously this season.  We need a QB guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interestingly the main statistical differences to me are: the records 8-4 vs. 6-6 and the turnover margin.

The 2013 highlights were winning 6 straight and upsetting ou.

In 2014 the highlights were few - playing ou close enough to win but didn't and biggest win had to be upsetting WVA.

As was posted by my good friend Lakeman, what the Horns really lacked both seasons was a good QB :(

To be fair, our offensive line didn't allow for a lot. We were starting a guy who just a few months prior was listed as a third team DT. Our starting center lost for the year then retired. Our best OL was knocked out by injury.

Further, we had no TE threat to bail out the QB.

In 2013, we were living a lie. In 2014, we were paying for those sins. In 2015 - rise from the ashes?

Back when I was a kid in east Texas, we used to "burn off" pastures from time to time. It would be a controlled burn (timed with the weather). The same pasture weeks later would be lush green, rejuvenated. This is not much different.

Well stated, SHA.  Would not disagree with your assessment.  Ten cases of your favorite beverage

en route to your humble abode, as per (AS PER, REALLY?) your allowing me to "friend" you.  I will

tote the cinder block all next week and be damn happy while doing it.

Solid. Just solid!

The thing that jumps out the most is the scoring was way down, even though the TOP was up slightly.

The biggest difference in last year to this is a statistic not listed.

Last year, we started the season as the most experienced OL in the country.

This year, after game 1, we had the least experienced OL in the country.
