The Texas Longhorns travelled to snowy Manhattan, Kansas to try and extend their winning streak to 8 games by beating Kansas State. The Texas Longhorns were never in this game as the Wildcats dominated the Texas Longhorns 74-57. The Texas Longhorns fall to 18-5 (7-3 Big 12).
Turning Point of the Game
After going up 2-0. Kansas State scored 12 straight points and never looked back. It was a brutal game to watch if you are a Texas Longhorns fan.
Player of the Game
Marcus Foster
I don't normally pick the opposing team's player but Marcus Foster was dominate tonight. Yes he is from Wichita Falls, Texas but he didn't have many offers but committed and signed early to Kansas State so the Longhorns didn't really have a chance to recruit him. 34 points for Foster and he was unstoppable.
Epilogue:
Kansas State played their best game of the season. Kansas State had to feel that Texas stole that game in Austin and they came out and shoved it down Texas's throats. Add in a week off for Kansas State, Jonathan Holmes's injury and poor shooting; the problems just avalanche out of control for the Longhorns. Sometimes it's just not your night but Texas has now done very poorly on the road against Big 12 tournament teams.
They got blown out last month against Oklahoma State in Stillwater and now against Kansas State in Manhattan. The Longhorns still have to go to Iowa State, Kansas, and Oklahoma. They have to perform better on the road if they want to make it past the first weekend of the NCAA tournament and get to the Sweet 16. The Texas Longhorns will have two games at home, the first against Oklahoma State. I have no doubt that the Longhorns will play a great game at home on Tuesday night.
