A quick preview of this weekend's match vs TCU, courtesy TexasSports.com.
No. 24 TEXAS (31-16, 9-8) at No. 9 TCU (32-11, 12-6)
May 5-7, 2017
Where: Fort Worth, Texas (Lupton Stadium)
Time: Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 12 p.m., Sunday at 1 p.m.
TV: Friday—ESPNU, Saturday—ESPN2, Sunday—ESPNU
Radio: 104.9 FM The Horn/1260 AM—Craig Way (Play-by-Play), Roger Wallace (Analyst)
Live stats: gofrogs.com
All-time series: Texas leads, 223-68-2
Complete Game Notes
PROBABLE STARTING PITCHERS
FRIDAY—TCU LHP Nick Lodolo (5-1, 4.39) vs. Texas RHP Morgan Cooper (6-2, 1.45)
SATURDAY—TCU RHP Brian Howard (6-3, 5.43) s. Texas RHP Nolan Kingham (7-3, 2.05)
SUNDAY—TCU RHP Mitchell Traver (2-1, 3.95) vs. Texas RHP Kyle Johnston (2-1, 3.29)
Texas controls its own destiny as we get into the final couple of weeks of the season. Win this series in Ft. Worth and the series vs. West Virginia at DFF in a couple of weeks, and Texas is set up nicely for post-season play as they enter the Big12 tournament. Drop either or both, and the post-season will likely be a very tough assignment in an environment like LSU, Stanford or the like.
I'll be doing the PBP on Twitter this weekend. Here's the link if you're interested in following. https://twitter.com/joeywa_44
I'll try to post some updates in this thread as the weekend progresses. Please feel free to chime in throughout the weekend with your thoughts. We encourage the banter!
Now, who wants some frog legs for Cinco de Mayo?
