A thread to keep up with transfers, drafted players/commits and any other topics of interest

2nd portal pitcher addition. He is a grad transfer who did most of his work out of the bull pen this year in a closer/relief role. ERA was 2.77 with a K an inning and a 1.15 WHIP.

Seems like a guy who could push for the closer role next season.

Add Oliver Santos pitcher transfer from Duke. Will be a soph.

Now we need to add some 300+ hitters with power.

Santos was a top 50 prospect out of HS. Didn't play at Duke this year - which means he'll have 4 years of eligibility remaining.

3 pitch starting pitcher in HS, fastball was in low 90s at that time with a good curve and change.

LSU was on fire last night and of course, aggy is saying "we" while talking about their NC. I don't seem to remember them doing that when Texas won the NC in baseball and football when they were in the Big XII or did they?

Well... It looks like we will have our 3rd pitching coach in 3 years next year. Kendall Rogers is reporting we have parted ways with Woody Williams after a year.

Do think very few arms took that next step this year. I wonder who they have in mind to replace him. I know Sean Allen is up at Ohio State.

Yea, the pitching staff had the 10th best ERA in the nation so lets get rid of that coach. And people wonder why some have questions about Pierce.

Yes they had a good ERA. But a great precent of the pitchers could not through strikes when it counted. And the ones who could for some reason were under uterlized.

Moving on from the last two pitching coaches has left me scratching my head. I'm not sure what has gone on behind closed doors but the on the field performance didn't seem to warrant a firing.

I think Pierce has done quite well so far, but I do agree, he's gotta stabilize his coaching staff or things will not go well.

Great first night of the draft for the baseball team. No players or signees taken. We will see if any signees are taken today.

I expect Witt, Gordon, Campbell, LBJ, and Guillmette to be picked today.
