Agreed. All I'm hearing from fans is how awful the umps have been this season after every loss. It pains me to say but It's time we come around to the fact that we are not a very good team.

I can be patient. I see a lot of promise in pierce when I see what he is able to get out a roster not including a single recruit of his own. Are they setting the world on fire? No. But they have 9 1-run losses on the season, out of 12 losses total. These were games that last year would have probably been not nearly as close.

He is giving true freshmen a lot of innings, and that will pay huge dividends in the future. I'm not anywhere close to a ledge. I understand the process. I realize that's not the typical fan thing to do, but I think that we should step back and appreciate the small improvements and exhibit a bit of understanding that this staff is dealing with a team that they were handed.

I agree with all of that. It doesn't change the fact that we need a lot of upgrades. Pierces ability to recruit better ball players will be the key.

My father fought in WWII and attended UT on the GI Bill. Went on to get his JD from the UT Law School.

He was EXTREMELY orange blooded. He used to say "If the University of Texas competes against another

school in tiddlywinks, I damn well expect them to win!!" I suspect Bear may have a similar mindset...if Texas

loses at any sport, it doesn't sit well with him.
