Despite the internet fallacy, Tony Brown has always wanted to be a Longhorn and this isn't over. Now that it is starting to make business sense for him to make the leap, well, that's why I've stuck to my guns for 2 years. All the business stuff was going to take care of itself before signing day 2014. It is in Charlie Strong's hands now. This is one of the recruitments that will tell me a lot about his ability as a recruiter.

Brown

Adams

Solly Thomas

Whitley

Harvey

Springs

Strong should be able to land at least one or two of that group, maybe more.

5 of the 6 kids on that list would have committed to Texas 3 or 4 years ago.

Ketch is indicating the ship may have sailed and that we could have used about 1 more week to turn TB back to the good guys. I hope he's incorrect.

We also do not have a DC just yet...so that will likely impact TB's decision. If Vance was on board already, chances are higher that TB would switch.

His early enrollment is the one obstacle, but I wouldn't give up on it until signing day. Strong should be on the phone giving the hard sell right now (today) before he enrolls.

I'm telling you, from people I've talked to close to the situation over the past 2 years, if it made business sense Tony Brown would be a Longhorn.

it now makes business sense. I know the timeline isn't great, but an aggressive pitch can make this happen. Urba Meyer is very good at that. Can Strong do the same?

Please define "business sense". With the SEC involved, I picture benjamins.

I think the ship has the sails up and the wind is getting "Strong". I hope Coach Strong can change the sails setup and position. HOOK'EM

They are running with it now elsewhere Re: He didnt go to Alabama yesterday and he's at home thinking.

Very very interesting. Distance from home to Austin is much closer than home to Tuscaloosa. Almost same as Austin to BR and BR to Tus.....

Track team here is better. Easier path to the NFL I would think facing more explosive offenses. Makes a ton of sense.

He loves the school and location.

He didn't like the uncertainty surrounding the program and, to lesser degree, the track program. Both have taken care of themselves over the past 6 months. Of course, the uncertainty just ended at the time he was about to report to Bama. The odd thing is Mack had finally sold him on the fact he was going to stick around.

As much as we love our schools, when you are in his position it is a business decision and he must approach that way.

My guess is that Mr. Cosell is saying that Alabama (or several other schools) have been better at developing their players for the NFL. Just a guess.

TOS is saying he is in Alabama now.

This is kind of how I expected this to play out. I have outstanding bets on OB that Brown will be a Horn. I just figured Mack would be on stable ground or there would be a new coach to sell the kid on his favorite school.

I will stick by it.

Strong needs to give him the hard sell. An aggressive pitch will land Tony Brown.

The new update is that Brown himself said he is in Bama. Maybe he is just trying to keep things quiet but sounds like a good effort by Strong but just not enough time.

@max_olson Tony Brown spoke with Charlie Strong but is sticking with Alabama. Already on campus, starts class tomorrow. Story posting soon.
