Tevin Mack suspended

Sounds like the kind of player ou and a&m are looking for. My friends y'all have a great day

I don't watch much basketball, but I happened to catch about 15 minutes of the TCU game. They just don't have the look of a team that would run through walls for their coach, imho.

Perhaps he is being suspended for yelling at his teammates for the cameras right after an embarrassing home loss to TCU.
Showing passion and desire to want to win a game? I hope this isn't the case on why he was suspended. Now if he started a physical fight in the locker room that's another thing. Mack was playing with passion, desire and intensity the whole game. Sorry, I can't blame a kid for that.

i watched part of the game.  if i recall correctly, mack lazily passed the ball to another player and tcu stole it easily.  it looked like a lob.  i believe it was at the end of the game too; at a crucial time.

i saw him saying something after the game.

1)  Of course it isn't why he was suspended.  It was satire.... obviously bad satire since I am explaining it.

2)  What you see as "showing passion and wanting to win a game" I saw as a tool that Roy Williams perfected.  Roy Williams (of OU / Dallas Cowboy fame) had this knack of getting beat on a long ball and then jumping up (for the cameras) and publically demonstrating irritation toward a teammate as if to say "why didn't you provide the necessary help I was expecting?"  You might call it a video passing of the buck.  That is how I saw his post pass irritation toward Roach (I think) who apparently didn't take the "open path to the bucket" that Mack provided on the final desperation play.

Who knows.... maybe you're right and the kid just has a burning desire to win which caused his mini-outburst.  I guess it doesn't really matter as it appears his desire will be demonstrated for Georgia or some other southeastern team in the future.  In any case, I do hope he learns to submit to the appropriate authorities he is placed under in the future.  The kid is loaded with talent.

".... Smart’s known who he wants to be the answer to that enormous point guard question for years – Matt Coleman.

At VCU, once Smart and assistant Mike Morrell, now the Director of Program Development at Texas after being an assistant last season, found out about and watched Coleman, he became a top priority. That didn’t change when those two moved on to Texas after recruiting Coleman as much as a program could during their VCU tenures. For the longest time, Coleman, who is the floor general for nationally ranked Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Virginia), has been the target of the 2017 recruiting cycle, and the one and only point guard target. This is a player that Smart has known since he was an eighth grader thanks in part to Coleman’s relationship with former VCU point guard Briante Weber, who broke into the NBA last season after four years at VCU despite arriving to college with less than three offers.

As Coleman has stated before multiple times, Smart’s message has never wavered or changed – the keys to

run the Texas program are Coleman’s if he wants them. And it couldn’t be more clear that Texas desperately needs and wants Coleman to be that guy.

With Monday rapidly approaching, Smart and Texas are just days away from possibly receiving the type of recruiting news that would dramatically change their program for years. Coleman, the nation’s No. 35 overall prospect, will announce his commitment to either Duke or Texas during halftime of the game prior to his 12:00 p.m. Hoophall Classic game on ESPNU.

Not only was Coleman, a 6-1 lefty with great pace, born to play point guard, but he has the personality and competitiveness of a floor general that can lead a program. His personality and skills also make him a guy others want to play with like five-star, 2017 big man Mohamed Bamba, who visited Texas with Coleman and would consider the Longhorns even more strongly - some believe Texas leads for Bamba right now - than he already is if Coleman picks them. And Coleman isn't in a hurry to be try to be in the NBA.

Coleman, a Norfolk, Virginia native, is the kind of point guard that can not only elevate his teammates and team, but the overall Texas program under Smart. Putting a player like Coleman beside Texas' current guard group would give the Longhorns all the ballhandling, playmaking and decision-making they need to run a team at a high level. Then add in Jarrett Allen, who is likely to return to school at this point, and Dylan Osetkowski, who sources inside the program have compared favorably to former Iowa State standout Georges Niang and labeled as the best player in practice, and a point guard like Coleman would be surrounded by high-quality talent and experience inside and out.

Will Coleman choose to take up Smart's offer to be his point guard the moment he'd arrive? We'll find out Monday. While he can't fix this current Texas season, he would solidify arguably basketball's most important roster spot, which would firmly place Texas' future on the right path."

Regarding any of Smart's recruits, I will believe the hype when I see it

I recall that Mack was talking about transferring immediately after last season and this is two suspensions in season two.  Sometimes it's just not a good fit.  I doubt we see him again in a Texas uniform and wish him well wherever he ends up.

Man, with Coleman it's like Malik 2.0. That's a lot of eggs in one basket. Are there CBs in basketball recruiting??? Just curious where we stand with the perineal juggernaut Duke.

all I know is....Without Mack against WV is the first time they looked good all season. Maybe we are a better team without him.

Yes there are CBs for Basketball. Texas is the overwhelming favorite if you trust those.

Matt Coleman verbally commits to Texas!! Said he bought the Longhorn hat on Thursday. Said watching the way Texas has played, knew they could use a true PG to bring it all together, knows he could have the ball in his hand from day one to distribute to the playmakers already on the team. Shaka said the keys were his, drive us to a championship
