Terry Saban speaks: Nick Saban NOT going to Texas

okay, give me some proof to your claims that they lost money. you cant, like everything else that has anything to do with Nick Saban is unsubstantiated. Its getting a bit hard to keep asking for some proof of anything that our insiders have said in regards to Saban. The AD prediction was wrong but then they said that Patterson was the guy all along.
no offense but according to you it seems no one can have sources of info (even our own Mcphaul) and if they do you want documented proof of what they are hearing. This isnt the NY times or even the Austin American statesman that isnt going to report something without 4-5 sources of info, people going on record, etc, etc Some people have very real connections to current BOR members, coaching staff members, powerful big money donors who are directly involved in the football program, Bellmont officials, University President, and on and on. You either have to decide if these people are credible or not, and if their info has a track record of being right. Short of seeing their balance sheet and document receipts showing losses of money it seems you dont want to buy it. Thats fine, but some of us know some select insiders have a track record of being right, a lot, and put some trust in their info as being worth consideration. Someone that was out on a limb all by themselves last year and had the balls to report on Hicks and Wallace Hall meeting with Sexton many months before the AP ever reported on it all while in the face of people calling them crazy would fit in that category.

Bag horn I hope you are right. I think we will lose some recruits from the 14 class. We need NS here to help get the studs from the 15 class.
drgilbert, we won't lose the recruits who matter from the 2014 class...which is generally speaking the worst class in Mack's time at Texas...so, losing a few wouldn't be all bad as long as Heard isn't one of them and he's committed to us regardless of who the coach is going forward. I'd also expect the earth shaking news of Nick Saban being the new coach at Texas to cause at least a couple of very high profile recruits to flip our way. The bottom line is this recruiting class will end up better off with Saban as our head coach...even if he only has a couple of weeks before signing day to do his thing. We're not going to lose anybody you should cry over.

for someone making such accusations..yes, the burden of proof is on you. It's slightly odd that this deal has been sown up for a while yet there is absolutely NO mention of it anywhere in media, nor has it been reported that UT has even asked permission to speak with Saban. There's certainly some smoke and mirrors and thats not coming from the Saban's. If you are sooo confident then put your money where your mouth is and place a bet. The Vegas odds are pretty big. You can win a lot of money since you are so confident. I think that you prob wont and name some reason as to why you wont.
orangeman, serious question....how old are you and what do you do for a living?

We may lose some but he will flip what he needs. BANK IT.

That's good news. Just reading here on the board about some recruits taking visits elsewhere , and I don't blame them, just didn't want us to lose out on any of the good ones.

We're in interesting times for sure
No doubt. I'd love to believe the Saban to Texas talk but I just haven't been sucked in yet. Besides, I'd prefer someone with a little more pizzaz in there offense. Saban will want to mow people down with the online and we don't have the people on campus to do that. Besides, it was already tried before with some miserable results (thanks Mack).

why arent you putting everything you own on Saban becoming the next Head Coach? Seems to me that if you are so confident in the sources or whats being said then its a pretty safe bet to make. Again, im just taking what the insiders have said in regards to the whole Saban story. First, the AD hire was wrong. Second, the next prediction, when Mack retires, has yet to come to fruition. The meeting between Hicks/Wallace with Sexton was well known. It was reported by both camps at the time. Not just UT insiders.

So for those of you that believe that Saban is coming, why are the Vegas odds such a longshot? Do you really think our "insiders" have scooped Vegas?

Im 31 and what does my job have to do with anything? If i was as confident as you are i would be placing a bet.

“I think the biggest thing was probably not handling the way I left very well,” Saban said on the show, via AL.com. “That’s always been a thing with me that I’ve never felt good about it. The one thing that I don’t have any regret about was the relationship that I had with the players and the job that I did for the Dolphins and Mr. Huizenga. We all learn from ourselves.”

seems like Saban is stupid enough to make the same mistake twice. You people serious? Please take off the burnt orange blinders.

You seem pretty damn confident, did you bet the house as you've recommended others to do?

It has to do with your worldview and perspective. An engineer views the world differently from a sales guy, etc. I'm trying to understand where you are coming from.

Time will tell but the biggest of big players (Bob Rowling/Hicks level) who would be involved in hiring Mack's replacement are very...very confident Saban is coming to Texas per info out today
Baghorn had a great post on this article on IT....I will let him post it here
Baghorn please share...Thanks

Orangeman,

Its become pretty obvious that you do not believe anything being espoused by the insiders on this board until you have some proof. The lawyer in me wants the same thing. But why all the hostility and negativity? If the predictions don't come true, then the insiders will be outed, you will have the last laugh, and can talk all the trash you want. IMO, we should just wait and see how this situation plays out. I got a nice laugh out of the fact that some of the insiders on this board who predicted that Oliver Luck was going to be our AD had egg on their faces when Patterson was hired instead.

Let's see what happens.
