TCU beat Texas 24-7, its fourth-straight win over the Longhorns, on Saturday night in front of a lively crown at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth.

Kyle Hicks ran for two touchdowns and Darius Anderson ran for another to propel the Horned Frogs to an 8-1 record, keeping them alive in the College Football Playoff picture.

TCU running back and former Texas commit Kyle Hicks put the first points of the game on the board with a 1-yard touchdown run at the 11:29 mark in the first quarter after TCU converted a 4th & 2 for 20-yards.

Within the first minute of the second quarter, Horned Frog kicker Jonathan Song would add to the TCU lead by connecting on an 18-yard field goal. Kyle Hicks scored his second touchdown of the game at the 9:19 mark in the quarter, finding the Texas end zone on a 14-yard run.

TCU jumped out to a 17-0 early lead, but the Longhorns would respond.  Texas quarterback Shane Buechele found Collin Johnson along the sideline for a 33-yard touchdown, cutting the Horned Frog lead to 17-7.

Neither team would score in the 3rd quarter.

Things would remain silent until 4:23 in the 4th quarter when former George Ranch High School Running Back Darius Anderson would run 31-yards on 4th & 1 to give TCU a 24-7 lead.

The game clock would expire with Texas failing to score points in the second half, and TCU winning its 8th game of the season.

The Longhorns managed just 9 yards rushing in the contest, and 263 total yards in the game. Daniel Young led the Texas rushing effort with 31 yards on 12 carries, while quarterback Shane Buechele threw for 254 yards in the loss and rushed 12 times for -23 yards. The Texas offensive line struggled again, failing to protect Buechele much of the game.

TCU running back Darius Anderson led all rushers with 99 yards on 18 carries.

Texas (4-5, 2-3) will face Kansas (1-8, 0-6) next week at home in Austin.

I had to listen to the game on Sirius radio today. The broadcast was a TCU one with two homers manning the booth. They were embarrassingly awful. Half the time they named the wrong team. At least twice they had Texas playing themselves ("Texas defense is standing tough against Texas now"  smh).

They were very complimentary (after the game was no longer in doubt) of Malik, saying he was the fastest LB they had ever seen. They were high on Humphrey, Collins and the entire Texas defense. So they were pretty classy in that regard. They gave several tips of the hat to Buechele and his toughness.

But still, they made the day more awful than it had to be. lol

I scored 10 points this morning, boys!!
