Switzer says Briles would make Texas like Bama

Second on the okay with Texas, thinks Mack is a feline.

Briles is my #1. He'd be unstoppable at Texas.

I'm still on the outside of this one. 2008. I hope they go undefeated, and we beat them on the last game.

There is no way Briles doesn't respect Mack Brown. 22 winning seasons in 23 years, more time ranked in the BCS poll than any other school, 12 straight bowl appearances while at Texas, best conference winning percentage since the conference was founded, recently elected President of American Football Coaches Association. Briles may be cocky and arrogant, but there is no way Mack hasn't earned the respect of the other coaches.
Why is it so hard to believe, hell I bet half the coaches out there respect him as a man and as a CEO but not a football coach. Yes, all of those stats look good but he has done less with MUCH more than most coaches will ever have. He has let his friendships cloud his decision making time and again and has not held his teams accountable for anything...How many times do we have to hear that the team is struggeling because we dont have SENIOR leadership and we are great when we have good Seniors that hold the team accountable. That is the coaches job MOSTLY when he knows he doesnt have the leaders on the team to do it for him. Im sorry but no coach respects a coach that has fallen asleep at the wheel and waste talent like Mack has.

If Saban says no I'd much rather have Briles calling plays for us than against us! Personally, I'd prefer that Briles stay at Baylor long term; he's built a good program and has given them some football respectability. BU with Briles adds football strength to the Big XII and, given it's current state, we need as much of that as we can get! I'd hate to see him end up at aggy for more reasons than I can count.

This may be the first time in Switzer's life that he was telling the truth.;........knew the end of the world was near.

Totally agree.

I also hope that if we don't get him that he inks something long term there. It's so much more exciting to have good teams and blossoming rivalries even if it's Baylor. I don't want Briles at Aggy. I think he'd be better than Sumlin. It remains to be seen what Sumlin will do without JM and Evans (and their OL). Sure he's racking up the recruits but we've seen that doesn't always translate. He may very well be a great coach I just think the jury is out.
