Storylines to Watch as Texas Begins Spring Practice

If there is an actual QB battle this spring/fall. . .we are screwed.

And this from someone who leaned Shane (simplybecause UTWiz drove me nuts) but Sam outplayed Shane down the stretch.

OL is my #1 by far, nothing else close concern.

Not that we don't have questions basically at all position groups, but none of them compare to OL. . .

We don't get that fixed,. .  .. we are in for a VERY long season.

I don't agree with the first statement. If the OL gets right this spring and during the fall camp, I think either QB could be successful. I do think Ehlinger would do better in the system, but I also think Buechele could be successful as well. Not to the extent that Ehlinger would but enough to make a difference over last year.

JMHO but don't think Shane is a good fit for this passing O.

Having said that, I do not like the passing O design.   Way too complicated.  But then I don't like the offensive play calling either. .  .

So maybe I'm just old and crotchety.

Gesss, the 247 guys were very critical of what they saw of the offense during a recent open practice or scrimmage.  OL, RBs, passing game, etc.  

Curious what has been observed by the guys here, any comments on spring offense progression  (or lack there of)

I hate to be "that guy" and I apologize if the content is embedded in another thread, but the lack of Spring practice reporting by this site is surprising and leaves me having to look to other sites and newspaper outlets for practice news.  I love HornSports, but I'm certainly disappointed this time of the year.

I was at Thursday's practice and to say that the play of the OL was less than stellar would be sugar-coating it. 

Okay, I wasn't really at practice but that is the gist of what I read on another site, i.e, the OL looked absolutely horrible.

24/7 reporting that Junior Angilau will be reporting this summer. Looks like he postponed his 2 year mission. Hope they're right.

The fact of the matter is we don’t have anyone in Austin that can cover practices. I’m in law school in Lubbock, Daniel is in Maryland, and Jameson is on the baseball beat. We apologize about that, but it’s just been rough this year.
