SONIC BOOM: Texas Flips Oklahoma QB Commit Cameron Rising

Wow, did anybody see this coming or was their any indication this would happen?

More importantly, what does this mean with Casey Thompson? Does OU push for him now? Will he be ok being in a 2 quarterback class?

Casey has known that Herman wanted 2 QBs. He got them now. Casey will be fine. And with Rising, nobody expected this. Daniel probably knows more than me but I don't think anyone behind the scenes saw this one coming. This is a big time get for Texas.

He visited recently, but there wasn't any chatter of a flip that we heard. This is out of left field.

Given the lack of numbers on campus at the position taking two QBs has been discussed, but I don't think anyone anticipated landing a Thompson AND Rising. I'm checking to see if Oklahoma plans on putting a full court press for Thompson.

So when we didn't have Rising everyone said Thompson was the better prospect. Now we have both who is really the better prospect

I still love Casey Thompson and believe he stays.  Don't think he wouldn't  have competition to win the job at OU or any other P5 program.  It is the nature of competitive athletics.  The crucible of competition brings out the best in athletes and prepares them for the next level. Only hope Herman discussed this with him before hand.  True devotion to team is essential for championship teams.  If you want to hear about selflessness, listen to the Blitz podcast with Jeff Howe when they had Donte Foreman on.  He talks about Malcolm Brown and especially Johnathan Gray and how they treated him when Donte had his breakout season and basically took their jobs.  Both 5 stars expecting great things.  Great respect for those guys and the quality of their character.

I am literally rolling here. OU has screwed itself.

At best, they have to overcome the truth that they went after Rising and were content with life without Thompson. And now they aren't. Predictable and not persuasive to Thompson I would imagine.

On the other side, Rising seemingly has fallen in love with Herman and UT. Being from California, its not like OU has any type of advantage to counter with.

I see no win in this for OU. IMO, they'll have to shop elsewhere for their replacement.

I could see them going after Spencer Sanders if not Thompson.

Casey has a very "HIGH Football IQ" and has a very strong winning attitude........ #Hook'em

Literally rolling in laughter thinking about all of the OU fans talking crap about Thompson weeks back because they had the better QB in Rising.
