BON is giving credit to Inside Texas but I could have sworn I saw this on an OB thread first.

Anyway, we all know the rumor. Whatcha think fellas?

Man I don't see any way that this actually happened. Nick Saban isn't going to let his wife go house hunting in freaking Austin in the middle of the season AFTER an AP story came out that we had contact with his agent. That is crazy. There's no possible way that she would come to Austin, look at houses and not expect it to leak one way or another. Even if they just want to retire to the area long term, it makes zero sense for that kind of talk to get out. It would be a MAJOR distraction for both him and his team in their quest for another national title and for a guy who likes to control things the way Saban historically has this just doesn't add up to me.

That said, I hope it's true and he's our coach next season.

Nope. OB eating JS's dust.

Great site, btw. Looking forward to hanging out here a bit.

Inside Texas reported it 9 months ago. I do not know when OB reported it on its boards. Even so, the message would been deleted by Ketchum anyways.

I don't see any way in hell he come to Texas. But if it's true, I will be as giddy as a kid on Christmas

I think if it is true and Terry was in Austin house shopping that the Saban's are trolling everyone. I don't see him leaving Bama.

I would almost prefer to see Texas go after a "Young and upcoming" coach than find someone that may last three, four seasons tops.

I see your point, but I'm afraid that after the last 3.5 years of "rebuilding", we can't afford any more years of waiting to get to dominance. We need someone who will get us there now.

The actual details were posted by Dude65 on IT first and then he posted it on OBs in the next day or two. After Dude posted it JS checked with his sources and posted about it and bumped is Saban to UT percentage from 34% to 75%

The way I heard the story was that the houses she reportedly was looking at were in the $700k-$800k range on Lake Travis. This is the part that makes the least amount of sense to me. The value of homes they would look at would be much higher IMHO and LT doesn't seem like the right area for a permanent home. One of the counters to the rumor is that she was here looking for a vacation home but that is a little too coincidental for me.

I concur with LVLobo and would add that Nick is too much of a control freak to allow his wife to come in and "shop around". Maybe she is vetting some places out but with what you can do online now I don't see how an in person visit isn't one of the last steps to be taken if serious. Either way, house shopping almost a yea before any kind of a move would happen is a bit of a stretch.

I've been a "I'll believe it when I see it" guy on this Saben thing since the rumors first started floating but this snowball has gotten pretty big and it is now being talked about from too many different and credible sources not to be plausible. I'll eat my crow if need be but this house hunting story doesn't make me think one thing or another about what's going to happen.

They were right around a million dollars (JS reported $800K and later changed it to a million). I'm thinking the reason for a small house like that is either a temporary home while looking/building for a better one or it's a house for one of their kids

The big lead picked it up & its giving BON credit! I wouldn't be shocked if she's checking out real estate in Austin because its Austin! They bought property in baton rouge also!
