saban would only leave bama for texas under "special pressure" w tide

This is going to be a very interesting 6-8 weeks or so. My guess is that information/disinformation will be flying from both sides and we're just going to have to take it at face value and see what ends up happening. Let the good times roll...

All these financial numbers are speculative.
But do you understand the formula?

Almost everything about Texas is better than Alabama, including the money making opportunities (on top of your guaranteed salary).

I don't think any decision by Saban is going to be driven by money. He understands that his program at bama is approaching a limit and he needs to move on before complacency sets in. It's this quality that separates him from JoePa, Bowden and brown, and it's why he's able to maintain laser beam focus at each stop. If he doesn't come here after this season, then I'd expect him to retire within the next couple of years. He has to decide whether or not he's really "too damn old.."

Our best shot to get him was last winter. The next couple of months are going to be filled with some very interesting drama.

"when Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept for there were no more worlds to conquer"

I have read a few times that last year was a better chance to get Saban compared to this year. Why? Just bc he is 1 yr older or any real reason? Did he say something last yr?

The Fluker incident would make sense here, especially if he knew about it.
