1. Saban sees his weakness to the spread and takes his weakness head on. He takes the Texas job to show the world he can overcome his weakness.

2. Saban sees his weakness and understands he will never overcome it. He stays at Alabama where few teams run the spread.

I'm feeling option 1 right now.

I don't know. Give me Gruden, Malzahn, or Fisher. Would like a different coach than one that lost his last game to OU. I have always liked the other 3 as much anyway.

It would be very shortsighted to turn your nose up to having Nick Saban coach your college football program.

^this! He's still the best coach in the game right now!

Saban recruits a defense for a different style of offense that he plays week in and week out. If he recruited to stop the spread, you can be damn sure he'd stop it.

Harbaugh, Fisher, Malzahn. Saban cannot stop the spread offense. Mack Brown has placed a Curse on Saban. If he comes to Texas the Mack Brown Curse will haunt him always.

No evidence he can stop spread. See A&M vs Bama.

Did you actually read my post? His defense isn't designed to stop the spread, its designed to stop what they run in the SEC (which to be fair is still partly spread, but he stops it fine there). If he were to come here, he would undoubtedly recruit different types of players.

Boy I sure hope we pay $100M for a coach who can finish second to Stoops in the conference every year.

Whoever the HC is needs to hire a DC that can defend the spread and an OC that runs variations of the spread with power running. Easy enough

Whoever we hire as HC needs to have incentive based contract. Get into playoffs and get $300k more, get to title game and get $500k more, win MNC and get $1,000,000 more

Unless you can go buy his old trophies, that's not going to do Texas much good. There's a lot of coaches sitting around with dusty crystal on the shelf, our ex coach being one.

u guys do realize he doesn't call the defensive plays, he can hire the right coordinator for the spread
