Somebody needs to hurry and hire him. We need to go shopping for a DT and they have a couple good ones.
Before we can land a top portal DT we likely need a DT coach to be named.
Since it's Monday afternoon, and we haven't hear a Roderick Wright announcement you have to wonder if that speculation was wrong.

Rod Wright was a fantastic player for Texas, and by all accounts a solid man. But let's imagine for a moment that he didn't play for Texas - but his coaching resume was exactly the same. Wouldn't this be a highly suspect decision by Sark? Maybe I'm wrong here - that's always a logical suggestion. Is there solid evidence he's a great developer of talent? That he's an ace... or good recruiter? Who on the staff now has coached with Wright?
This is for discussion purposes.... Just because it doesn't make sense to me while sitting on my Barcalounger doesn't mean it isn't a homerun. And granted, Sark has earned some trust when it comes to the coaching staff. But we're looking at a team with a legitimate shot at the playoffs, and interior DL is arguably the biggest question mark position (right now).
It seems to me if it was Wright it would have already happened. I agree his coaching resume seems more acceptable then steller. I also agree that Sark has shown he is able to find and attract great coaches, so whoever it is will likely be awesome.

Title says it all and that they have set up a their third NIL entity that has raised millions and is showing an impact with Caleb Downs and Sayin among others. Also, in 2022, Day told a group of local business leaders that it could cost $13 million in endorsement money to keep Ohio State’s roster intact. Our fundraising numbers are high, but not certain that we are that high yet. Understand it is not about NIL as 'laggies' showed, but it doesn't hurt if executed correctly. Not in the article, but I also find it interesting that Michigan is not showing up as signing any top players from the portal yet they are graduating a lot of talent and don't see them at the same level next year.And this is why college football as we knew it is dead. Don’t like the direction this is taking.
As a society, we sure have some ultimately meaningless priorities. Cancer research? No. Ensuring an adequate food supply to the world? No. Bolstering economic development in third world countries? No way!
Making sure a can’t miss QB is a member of your favorite college football team? Hell yeah!!!!!
College football is in a really tricky spot. You have high profile athletes who are part of producing 100s of millions of dollars of income for their schools/athletic departments yet aside from the value of the scholarship (which is a drop in the bucket) they are not financially rewarded in any way.
In fact, since you are a scholarship athlete, you were previously banned from profiting off of your name, image and likeness unlike your non-athlete peers.
Allowing NIL had to be done to eliminate this financial road block affecting all college athletes.
You are correct though, now that NIL is allowed, there is an alteration of true market value for many high profile athletes. Would a professional athlete of the same ilk be getting some of the endorsement deals these college players are? Probably not because the value isn't there for the businesses. But if part of the value of paying a kid a million bucks to take photos at your car dealership for an hour is that he will also play ball for your favorite school, maybe it is worth it.
Pay for play is not allowed, but there is no way to really enforce these type of enticement deals. We need some guide rails in place for NIL.
