Poor Lincoln's plan to avoid the SEC, dominate the West Coast and have an easy path the playoff didn't work out too well.

They just added two more teams to that. Back to the drawing board.
It’s all about the $$$. PAC couldn’t get a television deal worth a flip.So we have an 18 team league where teams will not play all the other teams in the league. They will be divided by divisions or worse, pods. And they will play the teams that are geographically closest to them. The winner of this pod will no doubt have to play two other pod champions (or 1, who knows).
In other words, they will be just like they're playing in the Pac except at the end of the season where they will play a team from the east.
And this is identical to what they just broke up and think they have changed.
USC wins pod. Plays Ohio State in Rose Bowl. Same as its always been.
Personally, I think it's all kind of stupid.
With 16 teams playing a 9 game schedule you can have 3 anual games , and play every one else every other year, which IMHO is awesome. So we have an 18 team league where teams will not play all the other teams in the league. Travel in non-football sports will be interesting. With 16 teams playing a 9 game schedule you can have 3 anual games , and play every one else every other year, which IMHO is awesome.
If you assume they stick with a 9 game schedule it will be interesting to see what they come up with. My guess is you will have some number of anual match ups, some number of every other year match ups, and some number of match ups that occur every 3 or 4 years. For example if you could have 3 anual match ups and 8 every other year match ups and then 6 every 3rd year match ups. Presumably they could come up with a schedule that makes the travel a little less awful.
Travel in football is probably not as big of an issue as described.Travel in non-football sports will be interesting.
All for G5s getting in if they're deserving. Two G5 champs or an extra at-large?
What does it cost to send a band, all of their equipment and support, a football team and all of their equipment and support?Travel in football is probably not as big of an issue as described.
Oregon can likely play Washington, USC, UCLA every year. Of the other 6 games, 3 are home games and 3 are travel. 2 hopefully travel to teams in the further west group and maybe once every 4-6 years making the long trip to Rutgers.
Non-football sports will be brutal it seems.
