It amazes me how ridiculous some people sound.  I don’t know if they are trying to add spice to what they say, or if they really are that stupid.

Unfortunately in the current political climate, it can get someone reprimanded, fired, hit, or shot.  I am constantly trying to tell students they need to take care.  They make racist or anti-gay remarks without thought, then they are shocked when someone gets angry.

I am pretty sure most of them hear it at home.

It’s a statistical fact that there are a lot of illegal immigrants entering El Paso right now - truth is more important than your feelings
The question is what does it have to do with the game? Nothing. Shock value statement that got him suspended

Ok, so having a game in SF after a recent earthquake, which gained mention during a game broadcast, is any different? Please explain that to me.

The illegal immigrant crisis in El Paso is worse than the tremor SF went through in that instance.

I don't know how you could even talk about El Paso right now without getting into the crisis they are being hit with.

Just watch Cade Klubnik pull a bonehead play. I recall Al McGuire  (former basketball coach at Marquette who won a national championship in 1977) making a statement about freshman while doing color commentary. His comment was made about a gifted freshman who made some head scratching decisions. He said, "The only good thing about freshmen is they will be sophomores next year."

He threw in his political beliefs because he had the platform to do so. Unfortunately, he miscalculated and it backfired to a certain extent.

I don't think recognizing a humanitarian crisis is political and I pity us if it has come to that.

It seems to me I've heard politicians from both sides mention there is a crisis in El Paso and along the Texas border. The mayor of El Paso would certainly say it and has said it before.

To me this looks like cancel culture at its most subtle point, you (a teacher) pointing out that you might get hurt if you speak your mind. Many a young man died in the history of this country for speaking their minds. Others succeeded and changed the course of history.

What's going on here in Texas is real. Did you know that the police response in Uvalde was basically a boy who cried wolf scenario? There had been 50 lockdowns, in the spring semester because illegals had trespassed into schools begging or looking to steal. This is not pretty what's happening and I feel for the people who have a legitimate reasons for coming here but most of them are coming for handouts.

I'll get down off of my soap box now. Just know I have dealt with this first hand in Fbg. And no insults intended, I'm just speaking my mind.

There was no context as far as I know. All that he said was here amongst all the illegal aliens and the score is...

If he did more than that to actually recognize it than please enlighten me

He didn't need context because most folks are informed and know there is a crisis, involving illegal aliens, ongoing in El Paso. The Sun Bowl will be played . . what . . a mile from where illegals are dying? Sleeping on the street during 10 degree weather has bad results.

And he was suspended for this. America needs a big giant tampon.
