Recruiting Updates

While what you say makes perfect sense it doesn't always seem to bear out that way. Otherwise, why on Earth would any decent defensive recruit go to aggy? I realize in asking that that the bigger question is why anyone with choices between just about anywhere and aggy would choose aggy. If it were between UH and A&M I think I'd flip a coin.
If you think about it, what would any recruit at all want to go to aggy? Four years at farm school can't be that enticing to anyone. Johnny Manziel is the greatest aggy to have ever set foot on their campus, yet he always wanted to be recruited at Texas and probably would have if not for his arrest record while in in high school.

Solomon Thomas just posted on twitter, "Congrats to my brother for getting accepted into UT. Hook'em". They are of different races, so don't know what's up there. They always call each other "brother" so I think they really are brothers and not friends (don't know his family background). Either way these two are very close, even if they are just friends (they always tweet each other). If I had to guess though they are step brothers.

Can't hurt that his brother/close friend is going to UT.

Good we need to keep this kid from going to visit other schools. He's not that biggest but if you watch the UA game he handle his self pretty good against bigger WR and lighting fast.

Any word on the supposed visit with Garrett? Was that even true, that we met with the aggy commit?

Everyone needs to be rooting for Derek Mason to get the Vandy job, and leave Stanford. That would really help our efforts with Solomon Thomas.

How many recruits on the offensive side of the ball did we lose in a head to head battle with Tech when Leach was there?

The argument that all of a sudden we will lose recruits because somehow we will be a slow, plodding offense is silly. First of all, listen to what Strong said about his offense in the press conference.

Some people like to bitch and pretend it's some sort of objective analysis. The thing they don't realize is that none of their argument is based on the entire body of facts, only partial.

If that.

But, it's a hopeless losing battle to argue with the hopelessly uniformed.

Meeting didn't happen last night. He had a basketball game and then a football banquet and wasn't available. They are going back to the school this morning to try and meet with him, per Horns247.

John David Crow says hello.

I wish I can call Coach Strong and tell him not to waste time on Garrett. And this is why my wife works with his mom she tells my wife everything. They hate Texas cause Mack and company didn't put a effort to recruit him and his sister is on the Aggie track team. But I tell you what if he gets Garrett to flip I'll go ahead and say Strong is the greatest recruiter of all time. Don't get me wrong I hope he can do it but I think Mack and company blew it for us.

I did forget to mention that he did like Alabama a lot and the coach that was recruiting him ( Rumph ) and guess who has him now so maybe he and strong can work some magic.

It was his close friend. He only has an older sister. My daughter is a freshman at Coppell High. She seems to think that he's going to Stanford; he has family ties there...

The Solomon race seems like it's down to Texas, Stanford and Ohio State.

If Mason indeed gets the job at Stanford, that will mean the two coaches that recruited Solomon will be gone. Mike Sanford Jr and Mason are the two lead recruiters for Solomon. Good news if Mason gets the Vandy job. Mike Sanford Jr already left for Boise.

Not official but apparently Mason will get the job.

I would be more concerned about his sister already being at aggy than him hating UT because of Mack Brown. Mack is gone. He knows that. It's a brand new staff, a brand new attitude, culture, etc. I'm pretty sure Coach Strong will be able to convey that. Now, his sister already being aggy might make the flip darn near impossible.
