Jake just announced that he is transferring via twitter.

His dad was going off on posters over on 247 last week about Raulerson. Said he has a terrible relationship with Wickline and that Wick was holding him back. Sounded like they were going to wait and see if there would be a new OL Coach next year. So this is a little surprising but not entirely.

Maybe so but I find it interesting that before Wickline got hired he was considered an awesome eye for OL talent and now it is is fault players that he do not think is good enough are leaving. Crazy times

He went off on a few who kept saying that Jake was pushed around to easily and not strong enough. I thought he said he wouldn't transfer though.

Maybe Wick is staying.

I'm not saying either party was right. I'm merely passing along what I saw and the comments his dad shared last week. You can take those comments for whatever they're worth.

Yeah I didn't intend to paint him in a negative light. Rather I would say he was very defensive in his comments. As any father would be of their son.

Well, since the OC search is dragging along, who is the starting center next year? I know many are saying Vahe and it would probably be a helluva center but he's also a helluva guard.

Garrett Thomas?

Rodriquez?

Anderson?

With Gilbert coming on and more than likely bringing a new OL coach I wonder if Raulerson will reconsider...might be too late thats why his timing is a little more than weird.

I've met Mr Raulerson at a shindig we had in Frisco one evening. Echeese was there and a few others from here.

He is an incredibly large man, used to play OL at Florida I believe. He was a pretty reasonable fellow though from what I gathered in talking with him.

Hate to lose Jake. Very nice kid. I've seldom seen anyone as excited as he was to become a Longhorn. He committed early and helped bring others. I wish it had worked out differently for him here.

He posts a lot on OB's as well. He was always reasonable and respectful there.

it is hard to believe that when Jake finally has a legit chance to start he decides to leave my only thought is that Wickline is staying.

Jake came in as a 5 star recruite at 6'5" weighing 265lbs if I remember .  He worked extremely hard in the weight room to add to that size with the plan to get to 315 lbs but I  am not sure if he ever got that big. Still he is a great young man and loved being a Longhorn so wish him nothing but the best as he moves to the next new phase of his young life.

Sounds like he made up his mind.

My guess is this was mutual because if Charlie Strong planned on starting him at Center next year, he would have stayed and waited until there was news on who was coming or going.
