- I didn't notice one missed tackle on the night. That's a huge difference from last season. No arm tackles.

- The linebackers seemed to be in the right place at the right time.

- John Harris was great after settling in,

- Ash started off throwing well but never seemed to get into a rhythm.

- The offensive line being unable to establish a running game is a bit disconcerting, especially considering the fact that UNT's starting DLine had a total of zero starts and 33 tackles between the four last year.

- The loss of Espinosa didn't help. It's Raulerson's time to shine.

- Edmond being able to shed blocks from a very experienced OLine was great to see.

- The Texas DLine dominated.

- Great to see Dylan Haines make the first int of the season.

- Ridgeway with a couple of sacks can only help his confidence.

- The offensive play calling seemed erratic throughout the game. There didn't seem like there was much of an attempt to establish the run game against a poor tun defense.

- Jonathan Gray looked fast. He made some great moves and created something out of nothing.

- Special teams was good aside from the missed field goal and the punt Diggs let roll to the one, which ultimately turned into 7 for UNT.

- BYU will be very difficult next week. We can win, but we've got to have more out of the offense.

- Very good coaching job throughout the Spring and Fall to implement a new system in such short time.

I think Watson could have utilized the run a little more, but I also think he wanted to give Ash some reps. I also think Watson kept the offense fairly basic with it being Ash's first game back, with Shipley only having a few practices under his belt, and missing two starters in Harrison and Daje. I think Watson is always going to be a conservative playcaller, but I don't think you saw the full package. I think we are going to see a lot more motion/movement with Daje back and you will see more two tight end sets when the time comes.

as per the last few seasons.. us fans, have been dying to see our LONGHORNS compete with sincere heart and passion.

i saw that tonight in austin, tx.

HOOK'EM!

Texas needs Daje Johnson back asap if they are going to change the pace of the offense, particularly with the troubles the o-line had last night.

Harrison is of bigger need IMO. Based on reports from several sites it sounded like Harrison was the best lineman come the end of fall camp. Getting potentially our best lineman back would help.
