QB Tidbit For KSU Game

Line has gone from TEXAS -4 to TEXAS -7

Vegas seems dialed in.
Spread opened at 7, went down to 3.5 and has come back up to 6 or 7 depending on where you bet.  I thought it was strange that the spread dropped immediately.  What has happened in the last 24 hours that gave gamblers more confidence in Texas?

Rumor is that Ertz is a game-time decision and may not play.

I checked in with someone on the K-State side of things on the Ertz rumor last night and they hadn’t heard and buzz on an injury. They also said Snyder keeps that kind of stuff close to the vest. The line movement is very interesting.

I watch the PC's as well, but like I said they were statements that were vague. I couldn't even quote you one. I just have the feeling that Herman is looking for a way to get Ehlinger as much game time as possible. Maybe I'm just being loco
1.  A good OL make a good QB look great.

2.  A good OL make a bad QB look average

3.  A bad OL make a average QB look bad.

You get the point.  We are around #3.  Not saying Shane or Sam are a McCoy/VY type but OL is just patchwork at this point.

I dont expect much from this offense vs KState.  Defense will have to carry this team until the OL improves.

You forgot #4: A not good QB can make a mediocre OL seem horrible.

I can see situation where the QB holds on to the ball too long but the QB is more dependent on OL rather than the other way around.

I do not think either of our QB's are "not good", more like average to good with some inexperience

Our OL is not mediocre.  I would rank them below that especially with Conner out.  Inexperience and patchwork.  When you start moving converted OL to DL back to OL and starting freshman its desperation.

It was a joke.  The OL is pretty bad right now and that is obviously making the evaluation of the QB position near impossible.  The only facet that we can truly compare with the QBs is which one has better survival instincts when the blocking breaks down.

Confirmation bias?

Agree.  After watching Shane vs Maryland and Iowa State I am leaning towards Sam now.

I still think Shane is the better passer but Sam seems better as far as leadership, energy, rushing, durability, and moxie.

Fingers crossed USC helped him grow up in a hurry. Big game big stage, could have done it!

I'm looking for some confirmation that this coaching staff sees what I think most see —that Sam is a gamer and should be the man at QB ...period.

It is undeniable at this point.  If you don't know it now you are never gonna know.
