Unusual high school QB transfer going down.

Major Applewhite was on this guy and went to see him. He was supposed to come here but his high school didnt allow it (La Miranda). Ex-high school now I guess.

"Highly rated Class of 2015 quarterback prospect Kevin Dillman has transferred to Denton Guyer according to Coach John Walsh. Dillman comes from La Miranda, Calif., where heâ€™s projected to be a top national recruit. He already has offers from national champion Florida State, Clemson, Arkansas, Louisville, Cal, Arizona and Arizona State among many others.The 6-4, 205-pound Dillman was featured by Sports Illustrated for his football instincts with relatively little football experience. Dillman is from Sweden but his father was a high school exchange student at La Miranda and transferred Kevin into high school. Itâ€™s not immediately known his connection to Denton.

Guyer is the two-time Class 4A Division I state champion but is graduating Texas quarterback commit Jerrod Heard, who has been the starter the last three years. Guyer junior receiver David Haynes was the No. 2 quarterback this past season and likely will start the spring on the depth chart as the top quarterback but Dillmanâ€™s is considered an extraordinary talent."

Moschetti emphasized that it is so early in the recruiting process for Dillman, but that relationship with Watson could be one to watch develop over the next year as the offers pile up for the extremely versatile and athletic Dillman."

One has to move into the districtunder UIL rules, not "transfer," and the move cannot be "for athletic purposes. I imagine the other schools in that district will be all over this move.

Daxx Garman is a perfect example. Also a little ironic that both schools are in the same district

Major had also offered his teammate 2014 TE Tyler Luatua who picked ND.

We also had an all-conference OG from the same high school -- Ben Adams back in the mid-90s.

They have been talking about this guy for awhile -- here is another article about him from 2012

Dillman is a foreign exchange student from Sweden. He moved to La Mirada, California, a sleepy suburb full of tract homes on cul-de-sacs, specifically to play football for the Matadores. It was a plan that took years to realize, but has paid off now that Dillman, a sophomore, is projected to be one of the premiere Division 1 recruits in the class of 2015.
"I always knew I wanted to play football in the U.S., but I didn’t know if it was going to be possible for me to play high school all four years," said Dillman.

The story of how he ended up here goes back a generation. His father, who was born in the U.S. but raised in Sweden, was a foreign exchange student at La Mirada High School more than 30 years ago. He kept in touch with former classmates and brought Kevin out for a visit when he was just 13. That’s when varsity head coach, Mike Moschetti, first got a look at his arm.

"I believe he was in eighth grade," said Moschetti. "We were practicing and he was on the sidelines throwing with his dad, and I remember looking over saying, 'Who’s the 23-year-old standing over there on the sidelines?'"

A year later Dillman enrolled in the high school with a tourist visa, but that expired after only a few months, so he packed up and headed home to southern Sweden.

"There’s been a couple of television stations is Sweden that have done a thing on, you know, he might be the next Peyton Manning," said Kramer. "It’s a big deal 'cause it’s a small sport getting bigger, and he is a potential big star in a big position. Like being the Reynaldo of soccer… if you make it."

The other boys on the team seem unfazed by the crew and the attention that’s been thrown on Dillman. Yes, they’ve read the "Sports Illustrated" profile. Yes, they know about the multiple offers. No, they have no idea what public radio is.

Moschetti has a working relationship with UCLA assistant coach Demetrice Martin from when the two coached together at Mt. San Antonio College. Moschetti implored Martin to show Bruins coach Jim Mora Dillman's game film. Five minutes later, the La Mirada quarterback had an offer

Yeah, not really sure.

But it is an unusual situation. It's not like he was forced to move halfway across a continent because a parent was transferred for work. He did it voluntarily for his senior year of high school. For football purposes it seems. And, as I have shown above, it's not like he wasn't getting attention at La Mirada -- everyone knew who he was as a sophomore ("Dillman has 16 offers from universities like UCLA, Clemson and national champion Florida State"). So I guess we will have to wait for the story on that.

While it's true we will already have Heard, it appears aggy will also already have highly ranked dual threat QB 2015 Kyler Murray.

ps - Dillman missed a good part of his jr. year due to an achilles tendon problem.

Again he can transfer but not for athletic purposes according to UIL. His parents better be moving with him and have a job in DFW. As previously noted, Daxx Garman got caught up in that when his Mom rented a house in Southlake while his Dad continued to run the family business in Oklahoma. District executive committee declared him ineligible for his senior year. ASU kept his scholarship (he redshirted) he transferred and now a backup at OSU.

Eligibility for Athletic Contests

meet all the requirements above,

are less than 19 years old on September 1 preceding the contest or have been granted eligibility based on a disability that delayed their education by at least one year,

live with their parents inside the school district attendance zone their first year of attendance (see your school administrator for exceptions),

have not moved or changed schools for athletic purposes,

have not violated the athletic amateur rule, and

were eligible according to the fifteen day rule and the residence rule prior to district certification.

he can establish a residence in the district without his parents, but it cannot be for athletic purposes.

The enrollment procedure appears already complete

“It’s his first day of school,” Guyer head coach John Walsh said. “There’s a kid by the name of Kevin Dillman here, and that’s all I know. I can confirm he is enrolled at Guyer High School right now.”

I think California rules are different. The public and private schools are intermixed and free to attend either one similar to Loiusiana

"The cat is out of the bag, but trust me when I say this, the transfer of five-star QB Kevin Dillman to Denton Guyer is legit. I'm sure details will come out soon, but the UIL has approved the transfer as far as I'm aware of.

As far as Texas goes, I'm told by source close to the situation that Shawn Watson loves the kid. I'd expect Texas to recruit Dillman and make him a quarterback priority now that his transfer to Guyer is official."

On this, it appears Dillman did visit Louisville/Watson last summer. Watson likes him.

So he may well be a target for us.

How horrible it would be to have back-to-back 4/5* dual threat QBs lined up.
