I like Kliff as an OC, but how long would he stay before getting another shot at HC?

I would think that Gary Patterson would want to bring over Sonny Cumbie.

How much $$$ would it take to get Patterson here? I know he's happy at TCU, but $$$ can change a lot of minds. I'm tired of waiting for "next year".

Don't believe that would ever happen.  Patterson hates Texas.  Would only come to sabotage our program, then happily go back to TCU.

Having either would be big get Recruiting wise. I’d be intrigued to see what a marriage with Kingsbury would look like offensively.

The reason I threw out Gary Paterson's name  was that we have Chris Del Conte as the AD. I would think that Paterson would find it attractive  working for his old boss. He would be at the top of the list for the same reason if UT needs a new coach.

If Herman should fail then I believe UT will go after an experienced coach and Patterson has seventeen years as TCU's  coach.

In the old days I would have said that is it easier to win at Texas. Now, I'll just say  that's it's easier to recruit at Texas..

No way on Beaty as the OC. He was the WR coach at A&M and hired at Kansas because he's was a great recruiter. He was an OC at Kansas and Rice before that.but no thanks.

 It was a nice try by Kansas, to take a chance on Beaty but what are you going to say to recruits besides your going to  have great seats at the Kansas basketball games. Now they can tell recruits that they have a chance to beat Texas every year.

Yeah I don’t think he gets a look as the OC. As a potential WR coach replacement with maybe an associate head coach title? I can see that.

Herman will never relinquish control of the offense. We’ve paid the Hc $5 mill since halfway through Mack’s tenure. We need to triple that and get one of the big boys. I would start with Dabo

Beaty seems more realistic than Kingsbury. Herman and Beaty both worked together at Rice. I have no insight to back this up, but I just don't feel like Kingsbury and Herman would be a good fit.
