The 2025 Heisman candidates were announced today. Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza, Ohio State QB Julian Sayin, Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia and Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love.
IMO, Love should be the winner. Notre Dame doesn't have the success they had this year without him. Best back in the nation.
Mendoza would be my 2nd choice. He makes very few mistakes, nice passer, intelligent decision maker. But he's a step below Love for me.
Sayin is a good QB, but this was his first year to start. He performed well but nothing that stands out. He did lead his team to the conference championship game, but wasn't even the best QB in that stadium.
Pavia will probably seek an 8th year of eligibility. I kid. But there's a point there. He's a great street ball kind of QB but has grown into a linebacker's body. But not Heisman worthy.
