A friend of mine is plugged into a couple BMDs in the DFW. He says they are either on their way, or have already arrived in Palo Alto. Seems they don't believe Saban will sign. They have coveted Stanford's David Shaw for some time. They also believe a real wild card exists if Shaw turns down an offer. Supposedly Jon Gruden is a long shot. Full disclosure, my friend sometimes gets a little ahead of himself. I started not to even share, but thought at this point anything is possible. Apparently this is a pair of money men that just don't think Saban will leave Bama and they are enamored with Shaw for a variety of reasons. FWIW

But make no.mistake about it, the guys who have closing power right now are still after Saban.

Also, there are regents posting on various websites and they are very upset all this is leaking.

Mack is making this difficult but there is still hope he will come around. Chip leaking his info before some big sources wanted it out (because Hornsports and IT btoke the story and Chip rushed it), has made this much more difficult as Mack is ticked off.
