Playoff prediction Sugar Bowl

Rod Babers said today that he believes Washington has advantages at QB and head coach and that often decides big games. What he says makes sense but I just can't bring myself to pick against Texas. So:
Texas 35 - Washington 34

They may have a small advantage at QB, but not much. And I would hesitate to say they have an advantage at HC. In fact, they just don't.

I think Babers is basing his HC advantage on record (DeBoer overall 103-11 and PAC 24-2). Babers is also pretty impressed with DeBoer's offensive scheming, at least on parr with Sark.

I think Deboer has a QB who makes him look good.

No, I don't believe for a second that he's on par with Sark.

I know everyone here has long waited for my prediction. Sorry for keeping you waiting.

I have predicted many close games for Texas this year based on the play. The last two games were a different Texas team than most of the year. We started getting healthier, roles expanded and we really took it to teams. The offense looked every bit like I expected it when we hired Sark.

Washington is good. Their WRs are scary. They will get a ton of passing yards on us. But guess what? Our offense is scarier especially if we are as good executing as the prior two games.

On defense - we have a major advantage. It’s not close.

There is enough talent in the WR room and QB room for Washington to keep it close but Texas pulls it off. Outside of WR (both teams have studs), everyone on TV and at the game will notice the talent gap in favor of Texas.

Texas - 48
Washington - 38

I saw a chart with the star ratings of each playoff team and Washington was a distant fourth place. Mostly 3 star players whereas the other teams are primarily 4 and 5 star players. Penix and their receivers are the standouts, but other than that, not that impressive. I wish I could find the chart again.

This may be off topic, but who do you guys think wins in the Bama Michigan game?
I think somehow Saban is going to pull a rabbit out of his hat late in the game to win

Here is what I see TEXAS doing on Monday, PK is going to have a spy on each and every play, they re going to show Penix one thing pre snap and then play man or cover 2, they have to maintain gap integrity, because Penix plays well out of a 3 step drop, he is going to make some throws, but hopefully they are going to make him go thru his progressions to do it, if he breaks contain he will kill us

On offense Texas must eat up clock, that means we MUST RUN, they have to give the D a chance to breathe

Alabama is way more talented. If both play their A-games, Bama wins by two TDs. Michigan has always came through though even though I thought they’d have 1-2 losses by now.

I’m going with a narrow win by Alabama.

To me, Bama goes the way MIlroe goes. If you put heat on Milroe, contain him as we did earlier this year, you've neutralized their offense. Outside of Milroe, there is no one on that offense that I really fear. You know Michigan has watched that game film a lot.

I think Michigan achieves that goal and beats Bama by a TD.

My prediction for the Texas/Washington game.
Yards don't equal points and FGs won't win the game. You have to score TDs.
Texas 52
Washington 29

Hoping to grab some tix day of. Will be in NOLA.

Spy Penix with Hill and bracket the two best receivers. Hopefully the DL can put pressure on Penix in that situation while stuffing the run. As far as the offense goes I don't think Sark needs to deviate from what he has done the last two games.

I'm taking Bama, has Michigan faced a defense like theirs? Maybe Penn St. I wouldn't like that outcome because if we beat Washington and Bama is waiting for us I don't think we beat them twice.

Why spy Penix? He’s rushed for -18 yds this year.
