Olympics

MSNBC often gets conflicted and confused during the Olympics.

Should they cheer or sneer?

But this over the top even for them.

There have been allegations that the skating is fixed ... again.http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2014/02/08/figure-skating-calls-alleged-judging-deal-categorically-false/b9EM80MxBZKfIFLc87be6O/story.html

The allegations were denied. Then, the next day, the Russians won the team gold. Go figure.

And it is not like it hasn't happened before http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/winter02/figure/news?id=1333280

I have never been much of a fan of sports that rely upon subjective judging, which is large chunk of the winter sports.
More fixing allegations for the skating .... http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/columnist/brennan/2014/02/20/winter-olympics-games-sochi-figure-skating-women-yuna-kim-gracie-gold/5643143/

SOCHI, Russia — One of the nine judges who picked a young Russian skater over two more refined competitors for the Olympic gold medal Thursday night was suspended for a year for trying to fix an event at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano.
And another is the wife of the former president and current general director of the Russian figure skating federation. Another Olympics, another huge skating controversy involving the countries of the former Soviet Union.

For me personally, the worst all-time Olympic travesty is and will always be the 1972 gold medal match between the US and the cheating commie bastards whose nom de plume then was the USSR. There is only one way the Soviets" could beat the US in basketball in the 1970s. They somehow managed to infiltrate their skating judge ethos into the international basketball ref community.

Did Rob Ford hurt himself celebrating hockey gold?

Of course he did.
