I haven't kept up with the thread so apologies if I repeat stuff. A&M sites are also reporting Hubestank is probably the No. 2. For Allen to have fallen that far, he has to be injured. I saw someone mention the trainer working on him against Ole Miss, and of course you guys saw him get shaken up early in the third against Alabama. There was another play even earlier in that game, mid-second quarter, when he got hit after an incompletion and his shoulder was clearly hurting. I'm not sure if that's what started it, but that was the first time I noticed it. (He'd only thrown one of his three picks at that point.)
Unfair speculation: He's hurt. He wanted to play (and Kyler was in the dog house), so they let him play and it backfired. Sumlin won't say he's hurt for sportsmanship, gamesmanship, or whatever reason. But they're doing a huge disservice to Allen. The guy is being ripped in the media and by Aggie fans and the coaches won't come out and say he's not 100%. Instead, they're throwing him under the bus. At least leak it to the one of the pay sites.
I doubt most recruits pay attention to this kind of stuff, but right now it looks like Sumlin has no qualms about blaming his assistants and players if it saves his own hide.
