Looks like Strong and staff quit work early.

Really tough to get commitments when odds are you won't be around next season.  I remember back in the day.... Fred Akers lost his ability to recruit.... it may have been because recruits were treated to "fire Freddy" signs all around the stadium when they took their visits to Austin.  Well, that and SMU / ATM / etc.... had "big budgets" for hosting recruits.

While I don't agree with the first part, you're so right CS wasn't fired or treated poorly because he's black. If anything IMO, he was given more latitude because of all of us rooting so hard for him to succeed and the PR problems of having to fire him. And I'm a liberal.
