In my opinion we hot people who are driven by money & power. They don't care about sport. These people's mind are driven by worldly goals. I won't go on or some will think I'm zealot.

It's not clear to me what this changes. It indicates the conference would still get do all that it does today. It talks some about some conference wide sponsorships, but that doesn't sound like something that requires outside equity to accomplish.

Maybe it's just a way for them to get some additional money up front, but a slightly smaller amount in the future. If so that doesn't sound very smart to me.

The previous equity proposals involved more radical changes to the conference structures and scheduling. It would have resulted in more big games and more money for the biggest schools, at the expense of everyone else. I'm glad that is no longer being considered.

I hit the nail on the head. Trash AP voters. I wonder how many work for or contribute to ESPN? Texas loses to an unranked team and drops 18 spots while ousux loses to an unranked team that dominated them and they only drop 8 spots. Tell me there is no bias in the AP.

Pen State fires James Franklin.

Pen State hired Franklin after Texas chose Charlie Strong over Franklin. I sometimes wonder how Franklin would have done at Texas, he likely would have done better then Charlie Strong.

Given that he made the semis last year, and that his buyout was 49 million, I'm surprised by the move. Seems like they could have at least waited until after the Ohio State game on November 1 to pull the trigger.

I guess they decided his cieling wasn't natty level, and that's what they covet. Time will tell, but the odds of them hiring a better coach seem low.

Passing along what I heard:

Media has reported he lost the team, the fan base and boosters. The crack started when he asked last spring/summer for $$$$ for portal and 3 million for OSU DC, which made him the highest paid coordinator. Franklin said he had everything he needed to win. Then to lose to UCLA and Northwestern, known as a journalism school, was too much. The biggest thing was administration felt they gave him all the resources to win. Franklin didn't.
