NFL Draft Thread (2016)

As far as the LB I meant he probably won't play this year. If so that seems like a waste of a second rd pick

The Cowboys had a former basketball player, Cornell Green, play safety for them for many years back in the day.

I saw that Christian Westerman was drafted as a guard in the 5th round.  IIRC he was verbally committed to the Horns at one time before decommiting and signing with Auburn.  He later transferred to Arizona State, closer to home.

They drafted Charles Tapper and Maliek Collins.
And besides, they've drafted three defensive ends the last 2 years on top of that, Lawrence,Gregory and Russell.

Just because they're knuckleheads and got suspended doesn't mean you need to spend a high pick on another.

I can somewhat agree with you on the Corner situation, even though they drafted one this year in the 6th, but he did have a 4th round grade on their board.

Tapper had 6 sacks in 3 years, not a pass rusher and those two knuckleheads can't be trusted anymore. So my thought is we need to start looking elsewhere for our pass rushers. Weren't we 30 to 31 in sacked last year with the two knuckleheads

CP, if there was a good pass rusher available then spending another high pick is acceptable to me because I don't think you can ever have enough guys that can get to the QB. Hopefully Tapper will be that guy.

Tapper is actually a good pick. Bad fit at OU with Stryker playing their version of the OLB pass rusher. He's got physical tools and plenty of college production. He's clunky with his hands and needs some fine tuning with his pad level. Marinelli can work with a guy like this much more than the free agent scrubs the Cowboys have been forced to play over the years. He had 15.5 sacks over 3 years, and had 7 sacks with 3 forced fumbles in 2015.

Jerry being jerry. I will be so damn happy when he gets out of the way and lets someone else run the team.

His son will be just as bad.
It sure looks that way if Stephen's fingerprints are all over this draft.

I had hope when he didn't overpay for DeMarco, but this draft has curbed my enthusiasm. Romo won't make it thru another season and Dak is at least a year away. And the defense still sucks.
