This is with no trades obviously, which I suspect there will be. I look for Houston to trade down and San Francisco to trade up. I also think a team like Minnesota or Jacksonville trades up in to the end of the 1st Round.

I'm fine with that. or clowney/carr. some combo of defensive beast and a QB at #33.

what i really hope is for manziel to be on the board when Dallas picks. that will be must see TV.

I expect the Texas to trade down and to receive underwhelming compensation for doing so. They are not a team that is one key player away from turning the franchise around. The draft this year is deep, so lower first round draft picks are still attractive to other teams, meaning anyone willing to trade up isn't going to risk being left out of attractive draft picks if they don't move higher in the draft. Houston needs to get as much as they can in this draft and even a small amount of compensation is better than none. Maybe a draft and trade so the trade partner is assured they get one particular player, but I don't see Houston taking the number one pick for themselves unless they simply can't trade it away.

My preferred scenario - Houston drafts Manziel and immediately trades him to Dallas for Romo, the Cowboy's first and fourth round picks and cash to offset Romo's contract. All hell would break loose.

For a team in Houston's position, trading down and loading up with good players across the board is the best thing to do in my opinion. They are several players short, and one great pick (if it pans out) isn't going to make a huge difference.

Texans have been trying to leverage a trade for months but the asking price just isn't worth it. I think they'll ultimately make a trade for quite a bit less than most when push comes to shove. I'd prefer to have multiple 2nd/ late 1st round picks than the #1 overall this year. There are so many solid football players projected to be available even into the third round.

If Houston uses the first pick it will be clowney. But I also believe they will trade down.
