*** National Signing Day 2014 Thread ****

I missed the end of what Dilfer said, people on Twitter are saying he thinks Heard will start from day 1. Can anyone verify that? Dilfer worked with him at the Elite 11 camp so he would know.

Trent Dilfer was just on ESPN U Signing Day Special speaking very highly of Jerrod Heard...never bad when a Superbowl winning qb praises you...
"A tremendous leader. A real diamond in the rough." - Trent Dilfer

"I wouldn't be surprised if he started from day one."

Ridiculous that Heard is not considered a top 9 player in the State.

Watch Poona squat 585lbs 6 times

I hope Patterson cleared his comments with Vance Beford before he put them out there.

I admit I had not considered giving the man the rock

I was actually worried for a little while that Bedford's tweets had been coordinated with Patterson.

This at least seems to confirm that they were not.

VB was just off doing his own thing.

With powerful legs like that, I'm guessing he could do some damage in short yardage situations.

WIN baby WIN!
Winning solves recruiting. Just for some historical context. From 1989 to 1996, for six years Texas only got 1 out of the top 10 players on the Fab 55. The two years we got 3 or 4 were Mackovic's honeymoon years recruiting. I'm sure Strong will recruit better than McWilliams and Mackovic. With Sumlin hot, I'm not expecting the big in-state hauls that Mack had, but I'm hoping that Strong recruits more out of state anyway.

Interesting ....

This year's class has 6 OOS players. Charlie Strong says he wants to close the borders. Set the line at 6 OOS for '15 and taking the over.
— EricInsideTexas (@EricNahlin) <a href="

Yea, I get the feeling he won't be doing a lot of that moving forward.

If A&M has another 4 loss season next year, you can expect the shine to start to dull a bit. On the other hand, we could have a 3 or 4 loss season and it would be good (granted the losses are close I suppose). Regardless, what we need to do is win and develop talent. If we are winning lots of games and putting players in the NFL, we will do great with recruiting.
