A poster on OB says he is a heavy Duke lean. Can we get a knowledgeable update here? Does shaunsters post here at all any more?

No, he is not a Duke lean.

Turner strongly favors Texas.

I placed a call to shaunsters yesterday to check in on him.

This. He probably really enjoyed his visit but that excitement will fade as time passes. Texas is still the favorite but other teams are going to push for him after this tournament so Texas still has work to do.

Just my opinion, but it see him as a long shot. Any top tier basketball player would be nuts to choose Texas over Kansas or Duke.

I did not ask for opinions, especially crap like this. Kevin Durant says hi.

Meh...he's only gonna play college ball for a year. Why not make it semi-convenient to see him play?

Of course, with that logic Turner should sign with TCU or SMU. Naaaah...

You make no sense RunnigHorn. He wouldn't be nuts at all to choose Texas. We have a great situation for him. A good team returning everyone with another year to get better. Choosing the Horns makes all kinds of sense. From playing on a good team, to being a hero in his home state, to developing a deeper relationship with his favorite player Kevin Durant.

I know it's hard to look at objectively, but in 06-07 when Durant was here, we were coming of five years where we saw one Final Four, One Elite Eight and Two Sweet Sixteens. Compare that to now where in the past five years where we have failed to advance past the first round.

Duke and Kansas are basketball royalty. Nine national titles between them (remind me how many we have?), and two coaches considered among the best of all time.

I truly am sorry if my opinion hurt your feelings and my facts don't coincide with yours. Maybe we'll get lucky, but in the end these type of decisions usually don't go our way. When is the last time Barnes landed the top player in the state?

He would be just another stud at those places though Running. He can do something special at Texas. If we go one and done and don't get him however, then I wish we would make a change. Lets hope we can get hot next weekend. The program needs it no doubt.

I would think he would be more concerned about which program could better prepare him for the NBA than about at which school he could feel "special" for one and a half semesters. Under that metric, who would you pick, Barnes or Krzyzewski?

I would love to see him come to Texas, but learning under coach Krzyzewski isn't going to lessen his chances of reaching his ultimate goal.

I asked for a knowledgeable update, not a bullshit anti-Barnes opinion. You are neither knowledgeable nor updating. I am not at all interested in what you think.

We have a pretty good list of one and dones that were drafted and prepared Randolph. Guys like Durant, Thompson, and others. Aldridge, Ford stayed 2 years and did fine. If you are a true one and done stud then you will be a high draft pick. Doesn't matter where you go. I would say that Ridley has improved quite a bit. Many kids under Barnes have.

Just logical and intelligent.

If you're not interested in different opinions, you might try to stay away from message boards.

There has been much speculation all over the internet (all you have to do is google) that Myles Turner is taking a hard look at schools other than Texas......especially Kansas, Duke and SMU. I have no idea where he will land, but if I were guessing, based upon having read his interviews posted on several sites, my guess is that it's roughly 52/48 in favor of Texas. Texas is no where close to being a lock. It can easily go one of several different directions.

I agree pringle. We can't go one and done and expect to get him. We need to erase the last few weeks we have had and make a nice run. Perception is important.
