In about 24 hours, Myles Turner will announce his college choice. It's going to be carried live on ESPNU.

Popular thought is that this is a three horse race between Texas, Kansas and SMU. All 3 schools have advantages from MT's perspective.

Call your shot now...what's it gonna be?

kansas or smu, 50:50

texas?    0% chance

kansas because of basketball reputation

smu because of larry brown

we have no shot at this.  none, zero, zip, nada, nello.  we have the null set of shot at turner.  period.  its over.  turn the page.  done.  kaput.  we have a greater shot at hitting four homers in a single game at disch falk field than we have in getting turner.  we have less shot at turner than we do with augie letting somebody actually swing the bat behind a leadoff single.

Thanks for taking one for the team, Slim!

Reverse jinx.

So your saying there is a chance...

I think we have a good chance but I spoke to a few HS coaches who said the kid as of right now has really not decided. I think he wants to go to UT but hell who knows what an 18 yr old will do.

This is a one Bevo Longhorn race ... because McPhaul told me ... and in McPhaul we trust!  ;)

Unless!  Unless, you follow armadillo slim's reverse jinx bluff scenario ... then ... We're DOOMED, I tell ya!   DOOMED!   DOOOOOMED!!

Howzat for playing both sides of the fence?

You really want know?  Rumor has it he is gonna ride into the studio on Bevo's back with two Burnt Orange basketballs palmed in outstretched hands at the ends of each of his considerably outstretched arms, wearing a big ten gallon wide brimmed Burnt Orange cowboy hat on his head, Burnt Orange suede chaps, Burnt Orange suede cowboy basketball sneakers, with a black cowboy vest, and with two smiling Texas Pom dancers, one perched on each of his shoulders!  Then he is gonna say, he's a gonna say,  "Can you guess where I'ma gonna matriculate?",  grinnin' from ear to ear as he sez it!  ;)

Hey!  I dreamed it last night.  It works for me!  ;)

ESPN insider says 65% Texas, that's good enough for me. The rest of the article is insider only.

Where will Myles Turner go?

On Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on ESPNU, No. 2 senior Myles Turner (Trinity/Bedford, Texas) will announce his college decision, choosing from a list of Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma State, SMU, Duke, Ohio State and Texas A&M. By far the best remaining player on the board, the 7-foot, 240-pound center's decision could have far-reaching impact in the 2015 NCAA tournament. Will he be Joel Embiid's replacement at Kansas? Could he catapult Texas into Final Four contention? Or could he put a Duke team that already is bringing in the nation's best recruiting class over the top?

Here's a full breakdown on Turner's seven finalists:

Texas Longhorns

Why he will pick them: The Longhorns were Turner's final official visit, and he has had numerous unofficial trips to Austin, so his relationship with the players and coaches is very strong. He will have an opportunity to be a go-to guy on the Longhorns, because his style is much different from the team's other centers and power forwards. Texas is a young, talented squad that made the NCAA tournament last season, and his family and friends would be able to see him play. As a bonus, Turner's favorite player is former Longhorns star Kevin Durant.

Why he won't pick them: Texas returns its entire starting five, and it is possible that playing time could have some limits.

How he fits: Turner will be able to play facing the basket and excel in the Longhorns' transition game, where he can show his whole offensive game. He also will be an elite shot-blocker in Rick Barnes' pressure man defense.

Odds he signs: 65 percent

Primal defense, I like that.  A straightforward opinion based on what the author actually thinks ... not just a regurgitation of all of the other articles.  Also, does not hurt that it is an article that is very simpatico with my way of thinking!  ;)

HS coaches do not know any more than we do about his thinking.
