This is simply false. Briles could have put us at #1 and left Oklahoma and Flordia off his poll and we would not have made the gap from #3 to #2. I don't like that he did it, but I was much more upset that Mack didn't put us at #1 than Briles at #5.

I don't really get the feeling that half the fanbase hates Briles based on one action. It was a bush league action, but I think Briles gives us a better chance at winning than Strong.
If you want someone who will constantly fellate the program, go get another Mack. I also doubt Briles will come here if he "hates" UT.

I think Briles didn't like "Mr. Football"; it had nothing to do with The University. And it was in his interest as the Baylor coach to keep UT down. We also poached some of his verbals close to signing day, might be another reason he didn't like MB;-0.

Strong's name has been tossed around for a few off-seasons now. His hire would not shock me at all.

People are calling for Briles because of what he has done with QBs in the last five (more?) years. People have short memories in this business. Stuff like the voting in 2008 doesn't really matter in the decision making for HC today.

What is so great about Strong? Really, I just don't get it. If we want a black coach because its time, surely we can do a lot better than him. What has he proven other than he can't win the big one with someone else's good recruits? They are both very good coaches and they may be the best available choices. I'd prefer Strong over Franklin.

well, he didn't have to do that. The whole point of backup options is to fill the position with a back up in case something goes wrong the last minute.
