I don't know Jason, but he was the only one on OB who tried to help me when I had cancelled a year ago, but did the 7 day free trial to see if things had changed recently. Problem is you have to give a CC when do the trial and apparently if you've done the trial in the past you don't get a second free trial. I totally get that they need to prevent people from doing 52 free 7 day trials per year, but it would have been helpful if that was posted somewhere on the site. Next thing I know my card was hit and Ketch refused to give the money back. Jason tried to help, but could only get me a 6 month free extension. At least he tried. Ketch was much less interested in helping and didn't like the tone of my email to he and Chip about the business practices involved here.

Oh well, life goes on and I hope they enjoy my money.

Have you ever driven in very heavy fog? That is exactly what it is like trying to get the correct information on the Saban saga.
I get emails & PM's from people I don't know telling me all kinds of things. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate those people taking the time to share with me. However, I'm also aware that I have been thrown a few curve balls with the intent to make me post something stupid.

I get you are taking the high road Mcphaul and that is a good position for the staff on this site to take, but from my level Chip is all over the place lately, and he and the mods there as a whole are very...very touchy about anyone dare questioning them. Black Scholes called them out on it yesterday in that thread where they went after Shaunsters.

They clearly have an agenda in what they report at times. Rather its for more access with the new regime, or a deal to break the new coach when it goes down, or any other notion I have no idea. Its the most visible UT board that like it or not does move the needle when they put up a story. For whatever reasons they are saying one thing one day and 24 hours later can go against it. I've seen Ketch and Chip even contridict each other

What TheWaterboy just posted is a prime example of being told one thing by Chip in person, but when Chip goes online he says something different to the masses. How else can that be explained ?

The problem with OB is how insecure the mods are. They think it's a slap in the face when they are challenged on their info, especially by subscribers that inside info like McPhaul and Shaunsters. OB mods try to portray themselves as "journalists" instead of message board moderators. They try to put themselves above subscribers who have inside info. In reality, Chip Brown is the only "journalist" and he was on top of a lot of stories over the past few years, but on OB he's still just a message board writer with sources that are often times wrong.
OB is still the king of college message boards and the mods have no reason to be so freakin insecure. If they would humble themselves and not get baited by their critics, OB would be a much better place.

Totally agree and I argued with Ketch over this very sentiment. Before bringing Chip on, OB promoted the sharing of information from insiders. He even outright stated that a website like his could never be true journalism, and he never wanted to be so that the mods and posters could share unsubstantiated rumors, inside info, etc.

Then they bring Chip on and try to change the dynamic of the site. IMO it has never been the same and the good posters and insiders were all run off or became unwilling to share.

Maybe it is the nature of the internet because Hornfans went through the same degradation over time and valuable posters went elsewhere.

Hopefully Hornsports can take advantage, thrive and sustain its success!

I have been involved with all these paysites going back to when (god bless) Jerry Scarborough was a teenager;>

IT has broken more, serious insider information then anyone else, going back to the Mackovic.

Just my honest opinion, I will respect yours.

I like this site but it's becoming obsessed with bashing all things OB which is getting somewhat tiresome. Lot of hypocrisy in this thread with people complaining about OB posters talking crap about HS. I get enough site vs. site bashing on IT so I was hoping this site would be different but I'm starting to think it's just more of the same. Hopefully, it changes for the better but I'm not optimistic. At least, McPhaul is a bigger man and I appreciate his respectful post.

I like that this site allows discussion of what EVERYONE is saying out in the UT message board universe and not limited to just the info on this site. If you talk about IT, 247, or even Hornsports more than Ketch likes OB will ban you for it claiming you are trying to ruin their business, and that's a fact.

Hornsports going down that road where they dont allow discussion of other sites or what other reporters outside their own are saying would really suck

I think the info reported here by Mcphaul and other insiders stands on its own. Its also heavily talked about at other UT sites as well. I'm sure the HS staff dont mind the exposure even if people dont like the info.

The bashing of people who are getting information that they hear, even if it contradicts what others have heard, is really childish. Chip does not have an agenda and is coming from a traditional reporters perspective. It is good to have different perspectives on any subject. Chip, MP, JS, and others are not in the business in making up our minds. Only we should be responsible for that. They just get us the information we hear to allow us to make our own damn mind. Bashing any of them for your lack of an ability to think for yourself, just because it may be something that you do not want to hear, is lame.

You see I have never had a bad experience with Chip or Jason but, I understand that some have.

Now, as you all know, I have had bad experiences on OBs. I look at it now as I have outgrown that site. However, it allowed me to meet some of the most wonderful people I have ever met and I count those blessings.

Emotions are high on every board right now. I would encourage everyone to do there best in seeing the good in people whenever possible.

That all will subside within in time. Keep in mind that when people have been exiled from a site that have spent multiple years on, they will go thru a transition of emotions. It is human nature. I'm confident that those emotions will subside and level off.

I would encourage you to be optimistic for that is truly in your control.

Well by all means, I stand corrected. You are absolutely right. Clendenon Ross made IT what it is today. JS just enhanced it.

That all will subside within in time. Keep in mind that when people have been exiled from a site that have spent multiple years on, they will go thru a transition of emotions. It is human nature. I'm confident that those emotions will subside and level off.

I would encourage you to be optimistic for that is truly in your control.

Thanks McP. You're probably right and I certainly understand some people may have legit reasons for having issues with a site or certain mods. I'm just not one of them so I prefer to show respect to everyone who attempts to provide information in a pretty difficult situation. I really appreciate the way you guys are running this site and doing your best to keep it above the fray. Hopefully, we get through the next few weeks and hire a great coach so everyone can go back to supporting the program and being less focused on some of this petty stuff. I'm looking forward to the day when we're mostly talking about dominating recruiting and being back to an elite program.

Keep up the good work and I really do appreciate you being willing to stick your neck out there with your reports with no filter.
