Any news how the visit went between Max and UT?
Supposedly went extremely well. He has visits to other schools scheduled though... TCU is one of them.

Everything about my trip (to Texas) was awesome," Wittek said. "From the coaches to the players, the school, the campus - it all probably exceeded what I thought it would be.
* * *

Wittek already knows Texas running backs coach Tommie Robinson, who coached RBs at USC last year. But Wittek said he connected with Texas quarterbacks coach Shawn Watson and offensive coordinator Joe Wickline.

"From the time I got to Austin on Saturday, Coach (Shawn) Watson and I were talking ball," Wittek said. "A lot of the concepts they are talking about, I ran at Mater Dei (high school).

"So I already feel comfortable."

Wittek said he was impressed by Charlie Strong and felt like Strong was a coach he would want to play for.

"He looks you in the eye, and you know he's no nonsense. And I like that," Wittek said.

my bet, with my usual ZERO inside info: he commits to UT and cancels the other visits.

Regarding Swoopes - my inside info (no, not IT) tells me Swoopes may even beat out Ash.

I will give my opinion on our QB's and potentials - so everyone can say I'm full of it:

1. David Ash - He will be our starter, as he should be. The hand wringing over his health is uncalled for. The doctors have given him a clean bill of health. Do you think the Dr.'s are lying?

2. Tyrone Swoopes - a monstrous talent only requiring maturity and experience. This year he will be the equivalent of a RS freshman - his biggest drawback.

3. Ogleywogly - Ha,ha,ha - a desperate attempt to find a body that could POSSIBLY be thrown in, if need be.

4. Wittek - should he sign with UT, he would be in contention with Swoopes as the backup to Ash. Two red flags stick out for me. One, he wants to be anointed the starter and, two, there is a reason he wasn't good enough to be the starter for USC.

5. Heard - he will be a TRUE freshman and those that proclaim him as the automatic starter have a short memory about starting true freshmen. His POTENTIAL is obvious, but so was Garrett Gilberts. He should RS and Strong should start Santos at QB - before taking that shirt away from him.

With a new regime, I want a honest QB competition. Let the best man win.

Swoopes is nowhere near being a #1 QB.

agree with wanting a wide open competition in the spring and with RS Heard.
